He's back

I'm probably more interested to see Bradie Ewing play saturday than GOATzalez.

I know what Tony can do. Ewing is supposed to be a stud FB that can catch like a tight end out of the backfield.

I wonder how good he can block, cause #42 Patrick Dimarco was pancaking nikkas in the last game. He was a big reason our run-game improved. He was sealing the fuck out of the edges on off-tackle runs and between the tackles.

It will be interesting to see if Bradie is a better blocker than Dimarco.

Ewing too fragile to cut Snelling at this point (or next year if it's the same situation.)

But I was re-watching the Ravens game on NFL Rewind and Dimarco was making those kinda hole and lanes that Mughelli was making before his ACL.

There's one Quizz run where Dimarco blew up Upshaw (or whoever that DE was) so much that Quizz had time to basically stop, cut left and jog around the left end like it was a practice walk-thru. lol.

Im just tired of *hearing about Ewing. I wanna see him do the damn thing. We should keep Dimarco close tho. Practice squad or something.

Hold up he's new?? I just thought they brought back Mike Cox lol.

I gotta start paying attention to the no names

Turner was ass last year and dying rapidly from LHD, but he would've at least broke a thousand yards if we still had a healthy, effective fullback (and used him.) Not a coincidence that some of Turna Burna's best years were with Mughelli.

I'm really just anxious to see what Kutty can do with a good FB. He tried his best to get some production out of Cox and that other fullback we picked up from a Marta station (forgot his name.)

Let's see what he can do with some talented ones.

I agree with B+. Only thing I would've wanted in the draft that we didn't get was a Speed Back. We might have that Vaughn or Russell, but Iono.

Vet pickups I give him a -A. I mentioned in the NFL thread in midseason that Jax would be the perfect fit for our offense. Rams wasn't rockin' him right. Osi looks good so far too. We might still need a DT, but so far in the preseason our D-line is beasting against the run. And Babs is still trolling QB's.

The two DB's look solid so far. I like how he got two different types too. Trufant is a classic "cover" corner. He's not really a ballhawk or a playmaker, he's just fundamental.

Alford is the ball-hawk/Playmaker that needs to work on his fundamentals and instincts a lil bit. That's the perfect combo for them to feed off each other and get better.

Just heard Smitty said that Brian Banks will get alot more snaps Saturday when the starters go out in the 2nd half. Possibly the whole 4th quarter. Good shit.

Glad they're giving him a chance to make that first cut.

Decisions on the first cuts will be made Sunday.

Every team has to get down from 90 to 75 next week. And then from 75 to 53 week after next.

I'm doing a "round of applause" post on here for every cut he survives.

I'm less confident that he can make the team than I used to be, but if he at least makes this first cut I'll be happy. I heard he already has a 6-figure book deal in the works and paid speaking engagements so he'll be aight either way.

Played corner too. No wonder he's so good at signing and drafting Corners.

Gotta give the boys a C- tonight.

Offensively the O-line finally crumbled as far as pass protection. Reminds me of the beginning of the 2011 season when it was like Ryan had less than 2 seconds to find a WR.

Defensively, we started off good but our front 7 got soft and then our rookies start gettin' that work.

The first time Trufant looked better than Alford, but not by alot. They both have a long way to go. Trufant looks more like a starting NFL corner right now tho.

Julio is still a beast, but he had two big drops.

Good to see GOATzalez get back in the groove. Shit is like riding a bike for him.

The BEST news tho is that our starters won't play that much at all next week so we basically got out of preseason so far without any major injuries. That's always a good thing. Especially in a year like this where damn near every team has lost a key player to a long-term injury.

We need to go shopping for a OT asap. In fact, I'd rather get a solid OT right now than a high priced DT like Seymour. We could get both if Dimitroff work the money right and/or we cut a vet like Snelling and/or Nicholas.

I think we'll be making a significant signing in the next 5 days.

There were things that concerned me but nothing too wild.

The OL as a unit looked awful on pass protection (actually held up on the run)

Trufant and Alford looked like rookies (which unfortunately is going to happen from time to time)

The starting LB unit did look good (Spoon had some rust to knock off)

Tony G looked like he never left. I've accepted the fact that there is always those couple of drops from Julio cause he more than makes up for it

We still have a problem containing running QBs

I wouldn't mind a couple of vet pickups but I'm not sweating nothing too tough
