Y'all giving Football 101 lessons in here???? Things must be slow..... Camp is about to start tho.....

Probably should make my ole lady read these post and learn sum cause I don't have the patience.

I'm not as excited about having Jax as I am with us having Koetter AND Jax.

If we still had Mularkey, I'm not sure if it would be as much of difference, but Koetter has a reputation for utilizing versatile running backs and involving them in schemes (see his Jacksonville days with MJD and his Boise St days.)

And I love it whenever I see something about his "mileage" or "age" in the media. This dude hit it on the head. He doesn't have that many miles on him considering his last few years in St. Louis.

Ever since we signed him I've been trying to play Devil's Advocate and see how defenses can "pick their poison" with him, and I just don't see it.

He did work the last few years in St. Louis behind a trash o-line and really no equal talent around him on offense.

If he stays healthy, I'm predicting

4.5 ypc, 1200 yards rushing, 7 TDs.

50 recs, 450 yards, 4TDs.

NFL: How Steven Jackson Will Affect NFC South

Jul 18th, 2013 at 4:45 pm by Charles Towne PantherNFC South

This is not breaking news, but the Falcons signing of Steven Jackson will be one of the best moves by any team this offseason. The full impact of his acquisition won’t be felt until later in the year. The Falcons are favorites to win the NFC South this season and rightfully so, they won it in 2012 and it can be argued they have only gotten better. I don’t hide my allegiances (just look at my pen name), but this Falcons team worries me. Already equipped with a fantastic passing attack, add Jackson to the mix, and they have significantly improved their running attack while having another receiving option for Matt Ryan.

Steven Jackson is a well-recognized name. For nine seasons he toted the rock for the Rams and he did so effectively. In those nine seasons with St. Louis, Jackson rushed for more than ten thousand yards. This while averaging better than four yards per attempt. Perhaps more impressive is in that same time span, Jackson managed to bring in over four hundred receptions for greater than three thousand three hundred yards. That is better than eight yards per reception. Wow! That’s right, over eight yards every time he catches the ball. What an incredible addition for Matt Ryan. This is a case of the Falcons having an embarrassment of riches.

There are those who may think Jackson has been run ragged while with the Rams. Quite the contrary, while with St. Louis, he averaged a very pedestrian two hundred sixty-six rushes per season. In this era of 300 or even up to 350 rushing attempts annually by some of the more work horse backs (such as former Falcon Michael Turner) Steven Jackson has relatively low mileage. Earlier in this post I mentioned Jackson’s impact for Atlanta won’t really be felt until later in the season. Here’s what I mean.

Jackson is 6’2” and 240 pounds. He is a big man, hard to tackle and possesses very good speed. Toward the end of the season, defenses are tired, sometimes even injured and frankly just are not as fresh as in September or October. This is when the Falcons could make full use of #39. He could batter opposing defenses and literally break their will. Not only in the run game, where the Falcons staff should pound the ball, but also in the passing game, by swinging him out and allowing him to get the ball and build up a head of steam to blast through oncoming tacklers. This is what scares me. Steven Jackson has plenty left in the tank and I know Atlanta will make full use of all he has left. Jackson could be the piece missing from last years team. And he may be enough to get them back into the big game.

The Falcons are in a prime position to make a deep playoff run. That’s not to say the rest of the NFC South is without talent, but Atlanta has a loaded offense. There are some big questions on the defensive side of the ball for the Falcons, but there is no doubt they will be able to put up lots of points. This will be especially true at that indoor race track known as the Georgia Dome. All NFL defensive coordinators will need to stock up on their aspirin and Tylenol, because this season, the Falcons are going to give them all kinds of headaches

I was at the NFC Championship game. I remember it like it was yesterday. Walking down the steps at the Ga Dome drunk and pissed. Ppl texting me talking shit while their sorry ass team didn't even make the playoffs. I also remember telling everybody in the Cheap Seats that we'll be back.

It's almost time

That shit is hilarious to me.

#1 rule of effective shit talking -- whatever you're trying to pop shit about -- make sure your situation is in order or that shit is null and void.

That's like poppin' shit about somebody's Jordans because they got dirty -- and you got on some busted Starbury's.

Nikkas in the Dome should really chant that Batman "Deshi Basara!" chant. Since it means "Rise" and our slogan is "Rise up".

That shit wold be goat if we're winning in the 4th or if Matty is trying to another comeback and the crowd is chanting that shit between plays (or during the play when we're on defense.)

Less than 72 hours before the Falcons are to report for training camp, they are reportedly in a contract squabble with first-round pick Desmond Trufant, according to a “sourced” report by profootballtalk.com. The crux of the matter is that Trufant was taken in the slot where the Cleveland Browns selected quarterback Brandon Weeden last season

It's officially the PRESEASON so I'll do my usual predictions and analysis.

Record: 10-12 regular season wins.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR:

Maliciah Goodman, DE

goodman.jpg

- Just have a good feeling about him and Maponga. Goodman will learn alot from Osi because neither of them were high draft picks, but they both have ideal size and upside.

MOST IMPROVED PLAYER

Another young DE, Cliff Matthews

- He's apart of the reason Dimitroff was comfortable with cutting Edwards last year. Will never be a big time sacker, but he has a good motor, plays the run well, and is smart.

BREAKOUT PLAYER

Corey Peters, DT

Corey-Peters4.jpg

- Contract year, so if he stays healthy, he'll make some plays as he usually does when he's healthy. But looking at the money the raiders gave Vance Walker (lol), all three of our top DT's will be trying to audition for a new deal. But Peters has the best chance of breaking out, IMO.

OFFENSIVE MVP

0402_ConanRyan_Blog.jpg

- He tasted blood last year, regular season AND postseason. The NFC Championship game was probably his performance of his career. Every good QB on a good team has that moment where you can see it in their eyes that they've "figured it out". And I think I saw that with Matt last year. Especially in our biggest games.

He actually played his worst in our "trap" games (Arizona, Raiders, Tampa, etc.)

DEFENSIVE MVP

Sean-Weatherspoon-Locker-Room-Dance.gif

- I'm giving up on waiting for the world to realize how good Spoon is. All I care about is him staying healthy and consistent. This is his defense now, hands down. Our defense just isn't the same with him out and he's a flat out play maker.

X-FACTOR (who needs to play well for us to take the next step)

Alot of candidates for this on both sides of the ball, but this will be a 9-way TIE...

Our entire O-line

uspw_5015066.jpg

And our entire D-line

ray_hamilton_2011_08_19.jpg

- If either or both of those two units exceed expectations (that aren't that high) we'll be unstoppable.

O-line is in better shape as of right now. But they both have big question marks that could go either way.

Looks like Trufant is about to get me some negrodamus points early. I mentioned that I had a feeling that Alford would outplay him this year, and all the pieces are falling into place.

I've heard more positives about Alford's actual play in mini camps than Tru.

Seem like we cut Tim Toone every year. Shit is like a holiday.

Nikka has all his belongings in plastic Publix bags in his locker, so when he get that note -- he just grab them shits and split. lol

@jazzybella

So what makes you think a website full of men want to sit and read some shit like this while discussing sports?

shawty....here's the powder room right here.http://community.allhiphop.com/categories/the-powder-room

Umm...everybody else gave their opinions on why they're excited about training camp so why can't I? What type of answer you expect from a female? Don't knock my answer because you feel uncomfortable, you might not agree but you can atleast respect it. ALSO, I gave a warning about it being a female type post anyway
