The school is like 5 blocks away from where my granny stay. Basically where I grew up.

Southwest wasn't that bad growing up but it's getting worse as I get older. Apparently dude had multiple attempts on his life and survived all of them. It's so sad that he had to lose his life like that and it was probably over some petty shit.

He was doing what he was supposed to do as a father.

I been in Southwest most of my life with the exception of a year. I've known Southwest to be a quiet neighborhood my entire life but shit really started getting bad around 2010-2011. A guy was in his backyard minding his business and somebody walked up on him and stuck him up at gunpoint. I know one morning I was getting ready to walk out the door at 9 in the morning and niggas started shooting. Personally, nobody should be living in SWD because of the Marathon factories.

I can remember a point where SW Detroit was where the Latin Counts and Sur13 was at throughout the 90's, but IIRC Surenos didn't pop up until around 97 or 98. That was one of the reasons I didn't fuck around down that way; I look like too many Mexican cats to be rollin through them parts. Get mistaken for the wrong dude and catch a hot one.

You're talking about the other side of the bridge in SWD the Mexicantown area. I went to high school in that area but never hung out in that area but that area is well known for gang activity. I remember the feds stay roaming through the Mexicantown area.
