But Lupe can make songs. He's mad deep, duke. I mean I can't LAD cuz of the wack ass formula it brought. Look at Jada's album.

Lupe can make songs, i think that's one of his short comings in my opinion. His music is not personal and sounds robotic, it's essentially too technical sounding.LAD had no formula, it showed Biggie to be a well rounded artist, his style isn't boxed in as lupe. Big could make the party tracks (One more chance remix, Mo Money mo problem), the story raps (Niggas bleen, story to tell, etc), the emotional and social tracks (suicidal thoughts, Miss you, etc). Ready to Die and LAD had continuity throughout it, it wasn't formulaic album so i don't know where you are coming from. All the producers were Badboy inhouse producers, what Jada did was run to popular producers (Timbaland, Neptunes, etc).

That's exactly what I'm talkin' about. You know some artist aren't good at making club tracks, but they still follow that formula. Fab did it, Kiss does it, Cam does it, & etc beside Nas and Jay. C'mon, Usmarin3, you gotta agree that B.I.G. revolutionized that formula for rappers of today, but Pac was the first to do it.

I wouldn't say it's a formula for Biggie though, i think he was just doing his thing. I think the SUPERPRODUCER and album sales falling off led to the formulaic music, everyone is chasing a hit. Yet i do feel some of these rappers and producers just have a natural connection too, like Missy and Timabaland, Clipse and Neptunes, etc. I think rappers should make good music and it will naturally cross over, i bet Method Man and Mary J wasn't thinking about crossing over when they made All I Need. Then you hear Fabolous "THROW IT IN THE BAG" and it just reads formulaic

Word, on Fabolous shit. I see what you're coming from with the SUPERPRODUCER concept, but artist like Jay, Nas, Face, Ghost & etc can connect with producer, imo. B.I.G. had a great production squats.

To me the best type of punchlines or simile mcs are the ones who don't force it, it seems like Lupe spends so much time focusing on the technical side of his music that he is forgetting about the soul of making music. I've listened to both Lupes albums and all his mixtapes and i can honestly say I DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT LUPE FIASCO. His music is essentially soulless, i know Pac (Dear mama, Me against the world, etc), I know Nas (Poppa was a player, One mic, etc), I know Biggie (Suicidal Thoughts, Miss you, etc), and Jay (Cant be life, Some how some say, Soon you will understand).

Content wise? Wait Wait let me get this right what is content to yall again??

The meaning behind, the subject matters, and etc. It was all Jay's story, and interesting. Wordplay was extravagant; I liked Regrets more than any on F&L.

Lupe makes better song than B.I.G. I think y'all goin' by Mainstream appeal.

I don't think I can say Lupe is a better song maker than Biggie. Biggie has countless tracks that are considered Classics that are mainstream and album cuts as well as fresstyles and underground shit he did. I mean look at their 1st albums singles:

"Juicy" > "Kick Push"

I think most would agree. For the particular poster to imply just cause Biggie is considered the Goat off 2 albums, Lupe should be in the converation completely forgets to take into account the impact and influence of those 2 albums. Biggie had the skills, the impact and influence to match, the trifecta every emcee could hope to achieve in their careers. Nobody isn't saying Lupe isn't sick, cause obviously he is but this rush to try to push him with the GOATS is very premmature. I have to see how he does over his next few albums before I even have the discussion. As of today though, no he is not seeing Biggie.

No they sayin for an album to be a CLASSIC it has to have Impact... And Reasonable Doubt had none but i still think it's a classic because its a great album... But using yall logic its not a classic because nobody cared when it came out and it didnt make NOBODY step it up musically.... Nas... no debate there he made niggas step it up...And Biggy Made JAy-Z step his shit up Wu Tang made Biggie step his shit up....

No you're the one that is reading the comments and spinning it to make a point.
