I dont hear it when i think westcoast i think dj quik an i hate that..an pac gang banging an i love that. East coast is like method man...an that poe people music Joey bad ass montone i threw my life away at ten years old shit..

Back in the days west coast beats were more mellow with more R&B type of vibe.East coast is more grimmy.Biggie mashed those two styles in an album.Espeacilly the last one Life after Death.

We can just use another B.I.G. song, "One More Chance (Remix)" with the DeBarge sample...

"Juicy Fruit" is pop/funk. The keyboardist is the same one from Parliment/Funkadelic...

"Big Poppa" uses "Between The Sheets" by The Isley Brothers with a funky worm added to give it that west coast sound...

Biggie made a whole song rapping over West Coast beats. It makes perfect sense. The West Coast sound was selling and Puff wasn't trying to be underground, he was trying to make money.

That Above the Law, Black Superman beat is hard af

That was the climate at the time. You'd be hard pressed in today's climate to find a brand new artist without some trap beat influences production wise because that's the vibe right now. 25 years ago it was southern cali's vibe.

if anything he sounds more like LL Cool J and Heavy D that's east coast ....

So NYC never did R&B? .... OK

LL's beats sounded east coast, Big's beats were undeniably west influenced.

Im only talking about his main most popular singles, the rest of his music definitely had a NY feel
