I have to disagree. He was alright but Red hot chili papers saved the show. Too bad it turned out guitarist was faking it. But it was boring before them.

I can't with Katy Perry though. Chick can't sing live and isn't a good performer. When they gonna let a rapper perform in the halftime?

Ever since that incident, Timberlake lost all respect for leaving Janet out to dry.

I always wondered why they never put artists that pump you up for football on the halftime show. Its always some pop sensation. Get those guys that sing Eye of the tiger to do the halftime show.

Kinda sorta. Back when the halftime show was this big ass cluster fuck with a gang of niggas on stage, (like a rapper and all of this potnas,) he was one of the features when Aerosmith did it.

Jesus, it's just a matter of time before the halftime show turns back into this bullshit. After watching that garbage, I realized one thing. Aerosmith, N' Sync, and Britney were biggest enough to carry the show by themselves and where was Run DMC?

I really wish comic book companies and sports leagues didn't feel the need to reach other to the "casual," or fair weathered fan. Usually when shit like this is done, it fucks up and compromises the integrity of the product.

Well like I said, the NFL is trying to reach out the widest demographic which is muthafuckas that don't give a fuck about football. When MJ did Super Bowl XXVII the rating hella went up and that's when they decided to always have a major musical act do the halftime show.

Really, nigga? Get Survivor to do it. That might make some sense if the Bengals are in it, but people unless you're in the bands that Mick Jagger, Roger Daltrey, Robert Plant, or Roger Waters are in, nobody is checking for ancient ass rockers to do the Super Bowl Halftime show, especially a band that is essentially known for one song released 32 years ago.

Don't they want you to pay them to perform at halftime ? That's why rihanna turned it down right

NFL wants Super Bowl halftime performers to pay for the privilege

As it has grown and grown and grown some more, the NFL has continued to find more and more and more revenue streams.

The latest could be the Super Bowl halftime show. Currently a gig the performer plays for free in order to turn a gigantic international platform into the high profile and profits that go with it, the league now wants a cut.

According to the Wall Street Journal (via SportsBusiness Daily), the NFL has asked the three artists under consideration for the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show to “contribute a portion of their post-Super Bowl tour income” to the NFL, or to “make some other type of financial contribution.” Per the report, the idea received a “chilly reception” from the representatives of Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Coldplay.

Regardless, it only takes one performer to bite the hook in order for the NFL to parlay the halftime show into even more of a moneymaker. And it’s entirely possible that the league leaked the development in order to pressure one of the three to blink, given that plenty of other performers who would gladly give up a piece of a pie they otherwise don’t have will now be calling the league to offer whatever the league wants for the privilege of playing to one of the biggest audiences in TV history.

A performance by the pop star has been rumored since August after the NFL reportedly asked her, as well as Coldplay and Rihanna, to do the halftime show.

But there was a catch — the NFL asked the three finalists to make a "financial contribution" to the league. The NFL argued the exposure was worth it, considering the Super Bowl is the most-watched TV event of the year. Last year, the telecast drew a record 111.5 million viewers, becoming the most-watched TV program in U.S. history.

Perry addressed the financial issue during an appearance Saturday on ESPN's “College Game Day.”

“I'm not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl,” Perry said.

But she has been embracing the sport lately, telling Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight to “Call me!” and partying with Ole Miss students.

The pop star would make for an ideal halftime show — she is currently on tour, her songs are pretty family-friendly, and with 58.1 million Twitter followers, she is the most popular celebrity on the social media site.

The NFL has declined to comment.

red hot chili "papers" was decent but not anywhere near the best part of the show...the surprise factor was better than theyre performance

Missy Elliott expected to join Katy Perry at Super Bowl

Missy Elliott is going to "Work It" at the Super Bowl with Katy Perry. A person familiar with the plans for Sunday's halftime show told The Associated Press on Thursday that Grammy winner Elliott is slated to make a surprise appearance during Perry's performance.

The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because Elliott's participation had not been announced by the NFL.

Elliott was featured on a remix of Perry's song "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" in 2011.

During a news conference Thursday, Perry hinted at Elliott's involvement in the Super Bowl act, which also will feature Lenny Kravitz.

The "Dark Horse" singer said, "He's got so much style and this certain, how do you say it, je ne sais quoi... he's the coolest! He's the king of cool and he's going to make me so much more cooler."

Perry said the halftime show will include an "old school" female singer - but did not say who that would be.

"When you hear the first ring of the chord," Perry promised, "I think jaws will drop and faces will melt."

Elliott is a multiplatinum rapper, singer and producer whose Grammy Awards from the early 2000s include best rap solo performance for "Get Ur Freak On," and best female rap solo performance for "Work It" and "Scream a.k.a. Itchin'."

Other Super Bowl halftime shows have included unannounced performances, including by singer Usher and former Guns 'N Roses guitarist Slash in 2011.

Why? Is is why the Halftime Show ends up being wack as fuck, it's tries to be too much in small period of time. Missy? Really? Missy hasn't be relevant in like seven years. With the exception of Lenny, this shit is going to be ass.
