Garbage album no matter how they re arrange the tracklisting. Very sad to see niggas force themselves to like let alone give the classic title to a boring forgettable album that nobody cared about in 96. .

Gold album in 96 two gold singles.....somebody cared about it.....lol

My baby daddy, da dip, my boo and countless other novelty singles sold gold and plat in 96.

Hay by crucial conflict was a PLATNIUM single/ album the same year. Once again nobody gave a fuck about Jay z in 96.

I wanna hear his original verses for BK's Finest. I know Clark Kent said it was originally titled "Once We Get Started" and that Jay had already laid his verses until he brought B.I.G. to the studio & then he went back & laid new verses.

what do any of those albums have to do with Jay-Z or "Reasonable Doubt". Jay wasn't even on any of those albums.

stop reaching and get out of your feelings cuzzo. you lookin like Erica Mena out this bitch

Lol yo homey you cant be that slow hope u got this shyt by the time I post this......Do I need to explain this shyt by using flash cards? What RD has in common with those albums albums is that they all were gold in 96, so if no one cared about RD how could they possibly care about those other gold albums that I listed.....U failed miserably homey, sit yo ass in the corner with a dunce cap on......scram....lol

So your only rebuttal to that to back your so-called "facts" to Me is a (weak) insult?

I asked what those albums had to do with Jay-Z or "Reasonable Doubt", not with East Coast Hip Hop.

My question was and still Is:

You named SOME albums that were good that went Gold that year. And...? Is that really all you can say? Stop being a little girl and be a Man and stop still acting like Santa Claus exists.

"Reasonable Doubt" was 'okay' but some of those albums you named yourself were better than that 1
=RDTEiPDgjAT1M

Yo, u trying to save face huh? lol regardless of how u try to twist this shyt....I dont care how many rappers went gold in 96..... 500k plus sold, somebody cares about your shyt.....Like I said, I listed those albums to see if sun would say that no one gave a fuck about them too....You talk about insults but come wit some grade school shyt....lol.....Quality was never mentioned by me so if you feel those albums are better cool....We're on that nobody gave a fuck, so gwon and say nobody gave a fuck about Ironman or Muddy Waters as well...

Lol.....Yo, Im done with this clown....step ya shyt up and stop trying to spin things sun....You was shut down a few posts ago, I should've just left it there....go ahead and hit the one of the reaction button, you been abusing that shit in this whole thread.....Like I said scram lil nigga.....

No one called this album classic back then.. Pac dissed him and other regions ain't fuck with jay til hard knock life in 98... He bit camp lo swag as well.. jay bitched about enough until folk outside ny started saying it was a classic... Dead presidents was tight tho

is it a classic because its jays 1st album or is it just that, a classic?

how do yall think its stands up to other classic debuts (illmatic, doggystyle, amerikkaz most wanted, etc)?

i thinks its a dope album & its probably his best album but its just a top 10 debut imo

Shit even Nas gave Reasonable Doubt props and put it in his top 25 albums and thats coming from a dude who basically aint like Jay around that time

but not a classic imo hasn't aged well

A good album though

co-muthafuckin-sign. this album hasn't aged well at all and imho isn't even his best work.

he comes from that era where your first album is your best. from an American History point of view its cool, Black people weren't where we are Today so the experiences and stories have a certain type of authenticity to them. Or glamour per say.

but he's done a lot better than Reasonable Doubt.

Reasonable Doubt is by far his best album

I just hate that kinda drug dealing/mafioso content as i'm into hip hop with substance so i really dislike his content

But i can give credit to Jay Z for having a good Flow that's what he good at

fuck you and what u are into

As i said before it's a solid album

Don't understand how it's a classic when Jay Z said he half assed the project out of his own mouth and needed help from Dame and Sauce to come up with the whole hustler drug dealer mafioso concept. In 1995 Jay Z used to rap like fu shnickens. That giggity, wiggity, wackily flow. No drug references. No pies no cakes. How do you go from wearing Jaz chains driving dame pathfinder to Versace and lexus overnight? This the shit Pac and Nas is talking about but you short sighted Jigga bitches can't understand. Niggas wasn't falling for this shit in 1996. We not talking revonist I'm talking summer 1996 nobody was worried about RD. He hopped on the mafioso train late. Rae, grap, az had that gambino shit on the mixtapes in 94 and albums out by spring 95. RD was late to the party by end of summer 96. Hell mase and puff started the shiny suit era in fall 96 can't hold me down. Rd was a very generic album at the time it dropped and hasn't aged well at all. 9/10ths of Jay Z fans did not know this album existed until 2001 including usmarin3. All I ask for is one of you motherfuckers to come up with a detailed arguement on why this album is a classic and since 2009 not one camel humper has posted over 4 sentences on why you fags worship this bullshit album. You Jay z fans can catch feelings all day. I remember the parks, cookouts, running the streets, living life OUTSIDE in 1996. Pac, bone, fugees, Nas. Nobody was talking, interested or bumping RD. I swear to life I never heard a nigga bumpin RD in a car in my life

Typed all that shit and still didn't tell how it isn't a classic and how exactly did it go gold if no one was listening to it.. So 500000 niggas just had 15-20 dollars and was like "I was gonna wipe my ass with this money but ill just get this.....wait.... Who the fuck is this nigga?????? Jay.......... Z..... Tf???? Fuck it, I'll cop it anyways"

The feelings are real in this thread..... You jay z haters can try as hard as you want it won't change the fact that RD is a classic..... That whole nobody was listening to a gold album in 96 argument doesn't really make any sense since THE ALBUM WENT GOLD!!!! And the whole jay made you think it was a classic makes even less sense cuz if the music ain't great you ain't finna get away with that...if that's all it takes then I'm confused why he hasn't done that with more of his albums.....Lol @ ppl saying it doesn't stand up against this album or that album or it hasn't aged well but when you talk about the top 10 albums from that whole DECADE RD is always mentioned but every opinion is entitled to their own opinion.
