you are saying beating on his chest is a sign of him being insecure... I just don't agree with that view. 90% of people in rap beat on their chest in most of their songs. Problem is most of the chest beating by Jay seems to be true. I think that rubs people the wrong way

No I'm not talking about him stunting and being flashy about his money although most people who do that are insecure too (which is pretty much everbody aside from Bill Gates). I'm talking about his constant response to critics and the manner and tone he goes about it. The shit reminds me of a sophisticated child pouting. "My presence is philanthropy" and him not joking and actually trying to substantiate this foolish claim. It just seems like he cries whenever someone says he isn't perfect and he overcompensates.

I feel like the album is solid. But Jay is off. His flow is repetitive and too much bragging stuff on here. I know that is his life now. But I prefer the old Jigga. I grew up on that. He is not a great mc these days to me.
