So everybody back on Timbo's nuts after bailing on him when he went to try somethin else huh. U niggas are the worst

Niggas saw the tracklist and it's "Ahh man this shit is going to suck. You hear tha 2 second clip of a beat in the commerical. TRASH"...now when they actually hear the songs "Timbo is a beast."

lol whats wrong with that?

aint no true hiphop head been feeling timbp for a minute.

i was the biggest timbaland fan, then he went west....hated his shit.

his contribution to this album is dope as fuck.

i and many others are lovers of music, not names....if the music is wack its wack, regardless of who produced it/rapped it....

just like now, i loved jay.....then i hated his music....now this album got me listening...im not necessarily a fan again but im more open to listening to music again cus this album was more than decent.

its all about the music man

What's wrong is you can't judge an album based on a short ass commercial. It's not like niggas heard the entire beats...niggas was in here breaking down each 2 1/2 second of a beat that played "Oh shit. THat's Rick Rubin. I see a little No ID in there too. Pharell, classic. Already know that's a single. Timbo, pass." Look at any album thread in here, niggas will deem an album wack or not simply based on the track list and song titles. Same thing happened in the thread about Wale's album The Gifted. Niggas saw the tracklist and already decided it wouldn't be good, then the album comes out and they end up liking the shit. It was already bad enough niggas was trying to deem albums classic 2 hours after they drop, now an album is wack based on a commercial and the song titles? It just look like niggas are looking for a reason to not like something

I gave the negative, now the positive:

-2nd hald of Picasso he went in, just like u could tell he would from the commercial

-Tom Ford. The 2013 ngas in paris. Dope. That wayne perry/tumblr/twitter verse might b my fave on the album

-fukwitme- sounds exactly like i thought it would. I love it. 'I dont bop, i do the money dance'>>>>life.

-FUTW-amazing

-Oceans-fuking amazing. Best song hands down.

-On the Run-i wanna serenade wifey after hearin this! Lol what a fukin song. (Anybody remember that classic Ghostface & beyonce song 'Summertime'??)

-Nickles n Dimes-he spit some REAL TALK. Beat aint blow u away, but its aight

-La Familia-Head-of-the famiLEE. He always has screwball 'love it or hate it' songs like this (Snoopy Track, 'Hate' on bp3, Squeeze First). I fuks wit this hard

Just a heads up but I don't think the retail is dropping on the 7th, I think it's the 9th now (Tuesday)

They probably doing it like they did that WTT album where it'll drop on Sunday night on Itunes but it won't be in the stores until Tuesday.

no the itunes store says the expected release date is July 9th

Oceans is that shit but album is a whole is average to me. Cant really relate to this billionaire baller shit Jay been talking bout for years now.

I see the crowd simmering down lol I skimmed thru some of it, waiting till I get a good full listen before judging.

I think we can all agree that this is a nice album. Jay Z definitely has lost a step with his lyrical ability and his flow is a little choppy at time but the album goes...

Wonder how all the people who said Samsung customers lost feel now? Niggas out here bootlegging the album trying to catch up lol!

Aint shit out there fuckin wit the S4 so I don't see how we lost.

I feel his flow got better as the album went on. seem like he started to hit a groove.

shit even lyrically he started to get better as the album went on.

his flow on "Holy Grail" was all off in that first verse

I fux with it production is crazy. they laced this nigga

didn't have to skip a track. "La Familia" was the worst song.

"Nickles and Dimes" was a good way to end the album

No lie "On The Run" might be the best song on here. that shit is extra smooth

solid effort 4/5 as of right now.

Cole got access to all these nigga he better start hitting them up.

After a second listen i gotta say it's an so-so album, nothing great, no classic feel to it. this will sell because it's jay, but this ain't in hov's top 3-5 albums.

a couple tracks i liked:

Verses this track dope, should be longer, i think we all agree on that. maybe we can get a feature on that down the line.

Tom Ford got a good beat, hov ain't spitting anything important on it, sounds like kanye ghost written the track.

Picasso Baby might be my favorite track, beat, lyrics, hook, all sounds like old hov.

Oceans hot track, frank ocean made this hot. it sounds like something that would of been on oceans album between pyramids and crack rock...

La Familia cool hook, cool beat, again nothing really being said here, seems like jay didn't even put a good 16 bars on this track. didn't really see the weezy diss in this, outside the "switching teams" line which wasn't even a shot at wayne, but jay do throw those subliminal shots tho so i don't know.

Holy Grail this is the radio hit right here, JT on the hook makes this good. this has to be a single.

Heavens RAW beat, second favorite track, this the track that gets a whip test for sure,

fuckwithme... a useless feature. hov got ross on that just to have ross on it, this sound does nothing for me.

BBC the first single, classic pharrell type beat. you can't really go wrong with nas and hov.

overall hov ain't rapping about anything important on the album overall, these luxury raps ye and jay be spitting do not connect with the audience that made them who they are. the production is good, just like yeezus. but the problem is they don't stick to what made them who they are, i understand that want to evolve as artist which is cool, but they gotta stick to some of the formula that made them successful.

One gripe about this album a couple people have mentioned is why does jay steal 2 chainz flow on alot of the tracks on this shit?
It only adds to the jay not a writer he's a biter shit, every couple albums he steals other rappers style/flow and it annoys me, just my thoughts on that.

1 out of 10 i gave it a 7.5 that's average for a jay z album, maybe i could bump it up to a 8 after ten listens.

still better than yeezus tho.....

Going to back and listen to this joey bada$$ mixtape.

$wank.
