the same people who never saw russell play and praise him as a top 5 player even with his 44 fg% and scoring 14pts as a center are the same people who say Big L is top 5 since he died lol foh Russell cant fuckin be top 5 because of his rings only ,if so that would mean pippen is better than lebron... Russells' role in the celtics was the same as Ben wallace on the pistons, important ? yes VERY but that is not enough to be top 5

Quit trying to rewrite history homie, you don't know what the fuck you're talking about

Idk what the fuck is wrong with some of yall disrespeckin' Oscar Robertson. He averaged a triple double THE ENTIRE SEASON. Show me another nigga putting up numbers close to that.

I noticed nobody has Dr J in their top 5

Erving won three championships, four Most Valuable Player Awards, and three scoring titles with the ABA's Virginia Squires and New York Nets (now the NBA's Brooklyn Nets) and the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers. He is the sixth-highest scorer in ABA/NBA history with 30,026 points (NBA and ABA combined).

He's top 10

1. M. Jordan - No brainer. Offensively, defensively, mentally and often underrated but physically MJ was the best at almost everything on the court. You name it, MJ could do it. MJ would do it and MJ did it. That to me is what make him the greatest because the level at which it was done still hasn't been matched. At least not on all facets of the game. Speaking of MJ still to this day is like telling a fairy tale. A fantasy story. Almost "god" like. Yes, that was MJ.

2.

3. L. James - Lived up to the expectations and beyond. Sure there were growing pains but they weren't created by this kid. They were created by the critics, fans both for and not for, other NBA players current and past. Lebron grew as a leader, he had a more powerful presence than the likes of Magic Johnson on both ends of the court and he could score. The best unselfish yet still dominant player ever. 13 yrs in and without question, today he's the best player playing. You can always count on seeing whatever teams he's on to be in the NBA Finals. FACTS!! Assassin? some argue that he's not. Not a problem. The opponents usually put themselves in the air, Lebron just kicks away the chair.

3. S. O'Neal - No answer for whatever he wanted to do in the paint offensively. In that Shaq-zone, if he had the ball which wasn't for very long but you can almost always count on those 2 pts. What made Shaq such a powerful force was how he got those 2 pts. The rim felt his presence just as much as the centers he played against. Sure there were more refined centers in the league. The Dream, Ewing and Robinson just to name a few but Shaq did it his way and he meant it and more importantly there wasn't anything you could do about it.

4. W. Chamberlain - Quite simply the most dominant scorer of any error. The 100 pt game still stands not to mention the 50 pts per game a season which has yet to be broken. Nothing else left to say about that.

5. Magic - The ball in Magic's hand while in transition down the middle with Worthy on one side, Kareem on another side put the other team in a world of trouble. The only thing you can do is watch what happens after Kareem or Worthy scores. How it got there? uumm, Magic!

he's top 10 but not top 5 because he was not a winner ,he won in the last stages of his career because of Kareem

Wilt shooting the ball 63 times to score 100 in a meaningless game against the worst team in the league that didn't have their starting center does not make him top 5

Looking back at this thread post for post...

Every dude CS has named over Kobe has a massive hole in their argument that Kobe had filled... I don't understand at all why it's hard to admit Kobe is as great as all of the above and should be in the top 5.. Kobe is the biggest overachiever of all of the all time GOATs... We aren't talking about a presumed superstar top 5 pick of his draft class, we are talking about the 13th pick of the 1st rd. straight outta high school, in one of the goat draft classes of all time.. Off the rip, year 2 he had MJ's notice and respect in high regard, MJ knew Kobe was gonna handle business and be next up and Kobe delivered...

These penalties Kobe gets, for being paired with Shaq to go on the only 3 peat since the Bulls.. to go Han Solo & recreate his whole game in his advanced stages to get his own 2 peat sans Shaq, Kobe was a top 3 player for at least 15 years which were more than a lot of the career goats y'all claim to have peaked Kobe... Only accolade he didn't get was 6th man of the year... Kobe is TOP 5 DOA

Steph wasn't shit till 2 years ago. And was to young when MJ was playing.

Cant deny dude. He cold. I was never a Lakers fan and hated dudes guts but if he not top 5 its most likely something to with him personally and not his game.

Jordan

Kobe

Kareem/Hakeem

Magic

Lebron/Big O

When you go back and watch their first 3 chips its crazy how talented he was in every aspect of them game including passing. He got a lot of people involved more than he got credit for. Countless times he would literally throw the ball straight down the lane to Shaq for one dribble and a dunk. Shots for Fox, Fish, Horry. Everyone. ONLY REAL PROBLEM WAS KOBE WAS TOO TALENTED AND SHAQ WAS TOO DOMINANT and they clashed instead of working it out. Kobe's arrogance also rubbed people wrong. He's top 5 though.

Opinion vs opinion. He should be in there though in my opinion. I dont see five other players I would rather have than Kobe

I can respect that

It's a joke that niggas put Wilt in top 5 talk. He was taller than the white boys he played.

LeBron only started being the best after the NBA castrated defense after Detroit dominated the East. And the nigga still can't dribble a basketball like a pro player.

Kobe definitely top 5 - this shit is insane.
