Trump has lost before though, remember that 25 million he coughed up a few months ago to settle lawsuits? He's not invincible, China, Iran and quite a bit of other groups worldwide will humble him. Next weekend is gonna be interesting.
remember that we're talking about a cage fight with Assad, not geopolitical affairs

Not gonna happen either way, but I still think Trump would lose that one

i want to know the last time Assad got his hands dirty in ANY capacity

What's your point? When is the last time Trump got his hands dirty doing something, outside that Oprah episode where he cleaned a bathroom for like 5 minutes.

trying to figure out the basis for "Assad could beat up anyone."

Assad and Trump aren't gonna be fighting either way, Putin said the other day Trump wants to leave Assad alone, which is a good thing.

If they did fight, Assad is still much more in shape and oh yeah Trump is 70.

President Trump (wow that sounds weird) last week said America should have kept Iraq's oil and suggested that it may try to do that another time in a speech to the CIA last week lol......Iraqi officials are upset about that, I doubt Trump is serious though. But with him you never know
http://www.salon.com/2017/01/24/ira...says-he-wants-to-re-invade-to-take-their-oil/

“If we kept the oil, you probably wouldn’t have ISIS because that’s where they made their money in the first place,” Trump said in a televised speech at CIA headquarters. “So we should have kept the oil, but, OK, maybe we’ll have another chance.”

These words reportedly shook Iraqis, some of whom spoke with BuzzFeed News about the prospect of another American invasion.

“We kept our ammunition and weapons from the time the Americans left for fighting ISIS,” one 27-year-old security official said. “But once ISIS is gone we will save our weapons for the Americans.”

waiting for the evidence

What makes you think Trump is even a good fighter? Assad has been in power a long time, he's gotta be tough in some kind of way.

he's a dentist who's father was a dictator and who's regime he inherited. where's the support for his personal toughness?

He's survived a 5 year civil war and the directs threats of ISIS and Al-Qaeda within literally miles from his home at times. That takes toughness in my view, Trump also seems thin skinned and probably would get rattled in a cage match more then Assad would. You can stop ignoring the age difference between them too.

Survives implies that he personally fought. Far from the case.

True but think about the officers and soldiers he commands, they could have turned against him, especially when ISIS had half of Syria at one point and Syrian soldiers were being killed very easily. Yet Assad survived what was almost a hopeless situation, so he's gotta have some toughness in him. A lot of leaders would have left Syria after all that, yet he stayed, so I think he deserves some credit for toughness.

LOL he ran to Russia.

Yeah but he still stayed in the country. Almost every leader asks for help of other nations time to time, including Trump. Trump has already asked Putin to help him out with ISIS too.

yeah, but i asked you to support his PERSONAL toughness, not "how does being protected by armed men work"

except that large quantities of his officers and men did? which is why it's a civil war where former military members fight him and some have bailed on the country completely, and his forces are essentially:

-guys like the Alawites and other minorities, who have no better option for sectarian reasons;

-militias and criminals that he "controls";

-non-Syrians totally getting involved in the affairs of another country (Lebanese, Iranians, Russians)...

and AGAIN, this was the question: "he's a dentist who's father was a dictator and who's regime he inherited. where's the support for his personal toughness?"

Assad likely has gone through much more hardship in his 5 year civil war then Trump has been during his time building hotels and grabbing women by the crotch. I can't vouch much for his personal toughness, but he seems like a tougher person then Trump does.

Yemen has told United States officials that they can't operate in the country for anti-terror efforts for awhile, after a US raid there killed THIRTY civilians, wounding much more. I wonder how many more disastrous raids America will have with Trump being in office.
seems disputed:

Yemen reviews deadly U.S. raid on al-Qaeda, but stops short of issuing ban

Yemen’s top diplomat said the country has called for a “reassessment” of a Jan. 28 raid that left multiple civilians and a U.S. service member dead, but Yemen did not issue an outright ban on future American-led missions, a report said Wednesday.

The statement by Yemen’s foreign minister, Abdul-Malik al-Mekhlafi, according to the Associated Press, followed a report in the New York Times that Yemen had revoked permissions for the United States to continue ground counterterrorism operations in the country, a base for one of al-Qaeda’s most dangerous affiliates.

Mekhlafi told the AP that “Yemen continues to cooperate with the United States and continues to abide by all the agreements.” He added, however, that the Yemeni government “is involved in talks with the U.S. administration on the latest raid.”

“It’s not true what’s being said,” said a senior Yemeni official in Aden, referring to the reports of a Yemeni ban on U.S. commando operations. The official spoke by phone from Aden where the internationally recognized government of Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi is based.
we'll see how it shakes out, but shaking a fist in complaint but no ban seems a lot more likely.
