Dayum how yall type so fast...

That's a bad contrast, how can u compare the declining sales of more established artists w/o taking into account Ross' declining sales as well to say that hes got a "better chance" to remain consistent ? thats inconsistent. Sales are usually a terrible gauge of value, shit looking at Tip, Luda, Wayne, Hov & Nas its easy to show the downward trend cuz hell NOBODY in music can sustain their hype forever (even madonna & mj couldnt match their pasts) but wat needs to be taken into account is the impact they had on the culture. Wayne can sell 500k on C4 & it wont mean shit cuz hes already got a track record, he co-founded the bling era, has a genuine image & has proved his weight in plat & gold already, Nas is a bonafide legend w/ the accolades to show for it & Tip n Luda done put it down & still have a good average where sales are concerned.

1 song, & lukewarm sales arent enuff. Tip, Luda & Jeezy's sales are declining but are Ross' not declining too ? lets be objective here folks. Sure the current rap climate should definitely be considered but there are other gauges outside of CDs (like ringtones, youtube hits, popular opinion, accolades, impact etc.) that better define one's success & relevance.

Great point & ur right, but iuno fam those cats left a huge impact especially UGK & too short. I cant see Ross jumping on radio shows & just speakin his mind no strings attached on sensitive topics & on hiphop as a whole in a similar way pimp c n others did. Ross dont bring social commentary to his music, he looove to talk about this illicit fantasy but doesnt sit down & explain it, which is understandable (hell thats his 'shtick' he cant w/o killing the fantasy). I agree that he'll be well respected & will be a prominent figure in the miami hiphop scene but legend ? no way , ill believe it wen i see it lol.

& ya on devil in a blue dress he definitely outshined on there. hes still young so thats a healthy sign that he can progress.

I see Ross being one of the legends for our generation...it aint too many candidates. We gotta have our own artists too. We not gonna be talking about Jay-Z, Nas & Biggie for the next 30 years. I think J. Cole, Drake, Wayne, Yeezy & Ross gonna be a few of the artists we talk about in 2019 & shit.

It's also real convenient that you credit everybody else' album sales to a staggering market but, dismiss that same notion for Ross. Ross is a consistent Gold artist, which in 2011 is like going Platinum in the 90s. If Teflon Don (BMF & Aston Martin Music) came out in 1998, it would've easily went Platinum. You kidding yourself thinking otherwise.

I get it. You truly don't even understand what legendary hip hop statues means. If anybody will a "2000s" legend, it will be Kanye. A nigga who actually sold records, made what people considered potential classics, showed diversity and actually excelled at it (808's), number 1 songs, etc. Basically all the shit Rick Ross hasn't done. You niggas up here can't be serious with idiocy like this.

1. It was complete dogshit. The singles were corny as fuck. It seemed rushed.

2. He's been so caught up with legal troubles, it took 2 years to get a new release.

3. It went Gold. Paper Trail went 2x Platinum. Rappers have sold records from Prison before, so that's not an excuse (ex. Tupac)

4. Whole album was a bad look for someone of Tip's stature

I don't even like Kanye's music, but I can't deny the impact hes had on the game. He defenetly gonna be a legend if he not already. But ross? These niggas are stupid.

Coming from the nigga with 50 Cent in his AVI. You shouldn't criticize anyone's opinion on Hip Hop.

I'm not even a big fan myself. However, the obvious can't be ignored. Kanye is working on being a legend. Rick Ross is working on being just another damn rapper...

1) ur opinion, & w/ that said.. STILL WENT GOLD (in these times)

2) w/ all that legal trouble his fans still haven't left his side (proof in sales)

3) uhhh, nigga did u miss the fact that YOU said it was rushed & it had no promo?

4) how is an album a bad look if it goes Gold a month into your jail sentence?

bruh.. u sound stupid as fuck right now.. stop playing with us

My avi has absolutely nothing to do with me shutting down your idiotic, non-existing argument......Really, it doesn't........

Yep. Niggas is reachin so hard for Legends in this era to the point where anyone who is popular for a stretch fits the criteria. I guess niggas gotta work with what they got.

Musically Tip been fell off. It happened around the time King came out. Some of us like Trap Muzik, Urban Legend Tip.......that guy has been gone for a very long time. TI will still sell but his music is but a shadow of its former self
