Every fine art loses its integrity once it's commercialized. There are more skilled rappers now than there have ever been, it's just the concentration of terrible rappers is at an all time high, and those are the rappers put in front of you.

Times have changed, it's basically gone from a hand built fine automobile to a car produced in a giga factory for mass consumption.

But guess what, there's still hand built cars out there, you just have to pay attention.

Its gone be okay bro, you cant control the way everyone thinks. All you can do is hold strong in what you believe and drop gems on people when you get the chance.

Some will hear you some wont, but at the end of the day they're the ones buying the hype and they'll take that to their grave. Hell maybe some of them genuinely think today's shit is better... god bless em

On a serious note, music is more a reflection of the ADD times we in. Folks attention spans are all fucked up because of social media, cell phones, and instant meals and access to everything. It makes the music less competitive, serious, and dilludes the implications to matter on standards of what the fabric of true hip hop and lyrcisim is. It's reflected throughout our culture, youth, TV shows, and political stances on social issues.

Everything is non serious, condition to be at face or shock value.

So in short, Lil Uzi Vert gonna be the GOAT in 7 years, while a nigga in the future name Booty Head gonna be the newest wave. Why? Because the standards is conditioned to be low and accepted, folks will rationalize things to stay with the times to not feel like they aging, in reality the essence of hip hop and good music in general Will be outdated conformed with old heads and the "good times".

The avg mfer my age is just stupid.

A nigga told me "ard hit me up".

It took me 25 mins to figure out what the hell "ard" was.

Come to find out ard is just short for alright.

Now we all know people that talk like that. If you say it, it makes sense but slang should be spoken, not written.

whether u like it or not they're gonna be on some wack shit

just look at topics that get made about rappers that are less talented then rappers that was not even the hottest of the 90's it's still way better then today for the most part

I don't like talking about cuz then I feel like a hater

but there are some dope songs from new rappers on the radio but they never get the big name like Migos or Future

Another proplem is they always trying to bring in new rappers the year aint even up

they hit you up with all these new rappers that don't give the rappers a chance to grow on you

it's to much they be hyping everyone up and you suppose to follow cuz the machine say

nah bruh i aint easily influenced like that

T/s watch lil Duval interview on ebro in the morning. What he said about putting the young niggas on the classics but not forcing n being accepting to new styles n opinions I totally agree with, I'll timestamp it when it get home

The generation previous to us thought we was stupid too. The cycle continues.

Maybe for saggin our pants and some slang like "phat" which is understandable but the music....nah. I watched my pops and his friends buy and jam to all that shit, Pac, Biggie, Bone, Dre etc...

I'm not even one of those 90s is the best fuck y'all new niggas types. By definition I can't be. Biggie died when I was 5 but to not know who Outkast is, is crazy.

that shit was not that long ago.

I think we have as much talent as it's ever been but too much bullshit gets through under the guise of "new"

Niggas not even saying anything anymore and it's ok cuz it "bang". Everything that bang ain't good

basically mutherfuckers black white mexican or whatever are fucking stupid nowadays and they're going to get even more ignorant tv music and movies reflect that....thats why nostalgia is such a big thing because everything was better back then

Ion mind a younger person goin with migos, niggas didn't come up on kast n much like on here folks go with what's currently hot.

I did get a lil nauseous reading that "idk who that is" comment tho
