It depends...

are you happy with what you're doing now & could you see yourself doing it for the next odd years?
is the new job something that would fulfill your interests further?
are you stable enough to take chances?
would this change conflict or gel with your 5-10 year plan?

where im at now -- no not really happy. and its dead end.

this new company is growing like crazy...if i display ambition and reallly learn it, i could see opportunities coming

but itd mean struggling for a while. how long? not sure, maybe a year...

How are the raises with the new gig?

the guy who interviewed me said they review at 3 monts, 6 months and a year.

he said he began the same as me 5 years ago, and has risen through several positions.

so that was kind of cool

the idealist in me says go for it...

the realist in me says stay situated & keep getting that paper...

But the starting pay is half what I make now.

There is real potential for growth though, they are expanding crazy fast.

So do I get on my Pursuit of Happyness hustle and grind out the low pay til I get my moment to shine

or do I keep looking for a new gig. They offered the job and I told them I'll call back in a few hours...

I would take the new one for less pay, be more happy, move up the ranks, get'cha money on the back end..Cut back on some of ya unnecessary expenses and bills until you get the promo..gotta sacrifice sometimes for the reward pimpin

thats what im thinkng.

they are opening offices all over the US and two in houston.

i feel if i go ahead and take this short dent in my pocket, i may win in the end.

kind of like stepping backward to go forward, you know?

Never throw away an opportunity for money now for a potential of money later. Can't pay bills with maybe money.

That's real talk...alot of niggas be questioning why they never succeed, get breaks and shit in life, but be passing opportunities by just cause it didn't come in the package they was looking for..sounds like all you gotta do is cut back for a little while to eventually come up...

honestly if you think you can go farther in this other company and can take that temporary financial hit go for it if its not going to bury you. especialy if you dont have any kids or anything like that.

That’s a small price to pay in my opinion. Go for it.

Take the new job and if you can take a 2nd job doing something like retail that's not stressful and you can still make some nice pocket change every couple weeks to help make up for what you're losing out initially

yea homie sometimes you gotta take a step back to go forward. i would do a little weekly budget right now and look at the shit you can cut out

If you're comfortable where you are at, just stay. Unless you

know for sure, that you'll get paid alot more down the line.

SMH @ companies offering niggas who can't spell "companies" a J.O.

That company will clearly tank in the next 7 months.

You will just have to tuff it out, until you can move up.....In the meantime your commute should help save a lot.
