Imo this is his 'Turn up, stay young n relevant' album. Hence no real substance and just 'bangers' so to speak. At the time i said 'down south beats' and nggas acted like i was crazy. But yes, Fukwitme, Crown, Beach is better, la famailia are all those type of modern beats.

But the ngga cant help if his subject matter happens to be more in line with rich white peple. But even w/ that, the SOUND of Tom Ford and Picasso is not white at all. Only Holy Grail falls into that category. And somehwereinamerica. It sounds very radio-ready. Hate that dumb ass song and them corny ass horns. Do you dance the chubby checker to that shyt?

Tom Ford is EDM influenced that shit doesnt sound like the street hiphop that made him famous but more towards the Z100 crowd. Picasso Baby is dope song and is not white sounding at all but damn that video sure as is.

Shit like Young Forever is not for the same audience as DOA. Put simple terms you always had will have rappers who make songs for crossover appeal. Jay-Z wasnt the type of artist to intentionally make those records and when he tried early in career the results were mixed were still rooted in hiphop music. Shit like Young Forever, Beach Chair, Tom Ford, Off That etc doesn't sound like hiphop to me.

It not Jay its lots of rappers whose biggest songs are the worst shit in there catalog, but even his hit were better in the past.

jayz has been putting out white ppl music since the black album...hell the only ppl i know that listen to wu tang are white and black hipsters, no one else really cares about wutang

the whole albums production doesn't sound anything like the beats he used to use, it's more of a technoish hipster sound to it, same could be said about kanye west recently.....listen to the volumes collection and then to this, the sound is completely different

i understand ppl do change and grow but doesn't mean you have to come up with reasons as why it's still good, if it's not good then it's not good, it's simple....but what do you think is going to happen when the subject matter changes to what his audience sees everyday to italian artwork, his audience can no longer relate as easy and it brings in a whole new type of audience...regardless of color, it happens, and the ppl who have listened to jayz shouldn't support it if he's no longer speaking their language...
