Nah fam ima side w/ Stokley Carmichael on this 1...

I couldnt find a picture, but...just picture...just imagine..the writer of this piece looks like George Costanza from Seinfeld.

And that happens a lot. Guys who were nerds growing up, couldnt even be around black pople, but then get older and become DJs, videographers, etc....b/c they had the resources we didnt...I dont rock with that.

I know these new nggas wanna hold hands and have this 'no boundaries' on hip hop, but bototm line no old white guy is gonna be able to CONNECT to OUR culture 100%. Period.

That goes for Lyor Cohen, Rick Rubin, etc, etc...period.

Again, not ALL, but i know i aint the oly one who notices the stereotypical nerdy, hipster/trendy old white guy who's also a sneakerhead, DJ, etc...Think DJ Semtex, Statik Selektah, Jake One, etc.....

I feel you but that doesnt mean dude is wrong with what he wrote. Maybe the tone he wrote it in is fucked up but there is alot of truth to this article and Im not the only one who's seeing that. If dude came out and was saying some outlandish shit then of course it would be an issue but he aint.

They cant hear the music which makes it more appealing to me.

One poster is talking about "Black queen shit" Vs "Illest bitch alive" without even recognizing the content in "Illest bitch alive".

...then other posters act like Wale sat down and made a conscious effort to make a song for "White bitches" when he has said over-and-over again in interviews that he didnt have any artistic control when he was on Interscope with the Europeon Mark Ronson and Jimmy Iovine.

as for your question then, though I thought I answered it

in terms of his music (as an example) he tries to support the black girl lost movement but at the same time make a track glorifying the issues of a valley girl

That isn't highlighting society.. thats pandering to an audience and saying, "imm make a song cause people don't like the dark skinned out here, and then going around and saying, "imma make this song for the valley girl cause even though she rich she deserve it, and she'll love that im talking about her"

How you gonna do both?

if you think 90210 was strictly a track for "valley girls" thats where your already going wrong ..... if you think that shades is a track soley for "black girls" then again thats were your going wrong ...if you think that becuase one track is a so called black girl song and the other one is a white girl song and because of that they cant exsist on the same record thats where your going wrong ...if you cant see the issue of a WOMANS (race excluded) need to be accepted and her willingness to go to all measures to get that acceptance being talked about in 90210 ...thats where you went wrong ... if you got caught up in the title or the hook and ran off of that instead of the content of the lyrics and the message thats where you went wrong ...if you didnt get 90210 methorical representation ...then ...thats where ......... well i think you get it by now...

Yeah and Santana Moss is the same WR as Calvin Johnson.

What song on AD sounds like "Legendary", "Ambition"...? Where is there a Gucci Mane type verse on #Ambition?? The Lady Gaga and Melanoe Fiona on #Ambition??

Miami nights! The live instrumentation and lows on #Ambition are miles ahead of AD, put your Ryan Torian ear-buds in their case and give it the car test.

^^I have the album and gave it the car test. Of course youd think I meant EXACTLY the same smh.

Slight Work= Chillin
Dont Hold Your Applause= Triumph
Miami Nights= World Tour
Multiple Chic songs

Very similar and nothing wrong with that

Aight answer me this: Would it suprise you at all if it turned out the author was a Reason poster who throws around terms like 'stan', 'cape', and 'L'?

It wouldnt suprise me. I mean doesnt the lack of professionalism bother you? Im just sick and tired of it...it aint just bad rappers that's killin this shyt...its the bloggers and hatin ass nggas (he aint even a 'ngga') masquerading as journalists thats killin this shyt

Again, I DONT EVEN REALLY LISTEN TO WALE.

I know he can spit, i like his beats, i root for him b/c he IS good for hip hop, but he aint for me like talkin bout....

I say all that to say this: he went from sellin 20k...i repeat: 20k!!! To sellin 200k! Thats unheard of. And his music is still HIP HOP, and he still has his manhood in tact, UNLIKE Kid cudi, Big Sean, and the rest of the skinny jeaners

He is winnign and he is winning by STILL being lyrical. What is he doin so wrong?!?!?!

Don't try to pull that shit with me. I expect the straw manning from Hrap, but you know damn well what I mean. The intent of Illest Bitch alive was supposed to be uplifting from EVERY word even in the title outside of the word between Illest and Alive.

But look at it here, you try to make a rougher around the edges independent woman song (which he's made 1000 fuckin times) by calling her a bitch. Coming from the same mouth that made Shades? The same mouth that got his save on on 90210?

That don't seem contradictory to you? Yes, they're both "uplifting songs" but the manner in which he does it is almost polarizing. You wanna make an uplifting song as a simp (too many to name) then one as a nigga ( Illest bitch alive). It's like if on Krit's next tape he come out sounding like B.o.B. Is he being versatile or is he just trying to be some hip hop amobea trying to grab every demographic and sacrificing idenity in the process.

And it wasn't just there, all through Ambition nigga was calling women bitches and had some lines lowkey shitting on them. He dancing on that same line J.Cole was but Wale is even more wildly inconsistant. I guess thats where "Wale vs MMG Wale" comes into play.

And your biggest verse of your career just happens to be a stripper anthem. I mean c'mon.

No it wouldnt surprise me at all because Ive seen everything on this site. I think the reason he's writing about Wale is cause 1. apparently he's a "rap journalist" 2. Wale's album just came out and 3. His paper is from where Wale is from. Im a fan of Wale but I dont see the big deal here, Its just dudes opinion and obviously he's not a big fan. So what?

A post like this is just to real.

The criticism, dislike, hatred and vitriol is not being aimed at the legion of pop-rappers and culture-bandits in our genre...it's being aimed at our brother and our comrade in the "resistance".

This is the backlash you can expect when you drop a 100% organic album with nothing but Soul, R&B & HipHop...people don't get it and they don't understand were you are coming from with it.

As a fan this really hurts me deeply and I find it disturbing that on a momentous occasion when we should be celebrating the triumph of one of HipHops future superstars we are instead criticizing his passion and diversity.

If JayZ is doing Linkin Park duets and American Gangster impersonations how many people will say "Dude he's trying to please too many people"....How many people can listen to BP3 and criticize Ambition??

So I guess we're just giving out passes for certain shit now then.

We can throw a shitstorm if Drake talk about catching bodies, if Wayne goes for a rock sound, and if J.Cole swag raps.

But Wale is super poetic and bows in front of hoes palms up in one room, then goes to stand next Ross and Meek in the other talking about "Yeah that bitch is the shit.....She ain't shit though"

I ain't saying you gotta make the same song, but at some point niggas gotta know who the fuck is Wale? Some people do what their best at. People say Big Sean is simple, Finally Famous: The Album was pop, he shallow and blah blah blah. But that album was focused. He was Sean every song. And still had plenty to rap about. Finally Famous for whatever you think of it defined Sean: A hornball, witty, ambitious, pothead, bullheaded, arrogant nigga.

All you can get from Wale is he's emotional and he's....ambitious. But that's more of an album theme than anything else.

Naw...He been doin that...Rappers been doin that...Real life niggas everywhere been doin that...You can't name me an artist who's catalogue has not at some poin contradicted itself...If so, that person isn't a artist, they workin by a formula...People have different moods and views at different moments...It's one thing to completely turn on an image or ideal that you presented originally...But what y'all are pointing out is just him capturing different moments...Sometimes you wanna talk about and praise the woman you love, and sometimes you tired of dealin wit fuck ass bitches that you fuck cause you thought wit yo dick...And it bothers me that people can't see that the word "bitch" is being used symbolically in "Illest Bitch Alive"...I know how it sounds but listen to the song, and think about the context of the genre in which it's made...
