Attention Deficit (90210, Chillin, then going and doing something like Shades)

Then pimp wale verses I respect women wale....

then go go wale verses mmg wale

and I know someone about to yell (versatility!), but doing it too many times and being inconsistent on entire projects takes away from his albums and some of his mixtapes

Look.. when you make music I expect the artist to be themselves... and maybe Wale is the type of rapper who just likes attempting to please different artists in a mediocre way instead of focusing on where he sounds best... but I just wanna hear one full great project form the guy.. im no hater

wale makes songs about things he see's in society ... how does 90210 a song about women and clamering for fame conflict with song about skin favoring?? those are two different social issues discussed by a rapper who has a history of tackling topics like this ..... that sir is the definition of consistency..... this sounds more like a situation were you just dont like chillin and 90210 .... and istead of just leaving it at that you want to use those songs as an indictment on his ability.... which i dont agree with

what artists don't pander to their audiences?

Artists who have Mark Ronson executive produce their debut.

Wale explains everything in vivid detail in his Interview on Power 105 w/ the breakfast club.

and on ambition doing shit like legendary and chain music (which are great) verses shit like slight work, focused, which pander to audiences)

He's a rapper of course the nigga gonna flip flop to a certain extent to sale records KK

what artists don't have i love women track, then turn around and talk about fucking hoes and never trust a bitch. How many of these rappers are married while talking bout pimping out hoes.

There is no go go wale vs mmg wale. That's all about beats and production the message is the same regardless.

As for legendary vs a track like slight work. I agree with you. But once again what young cat isn't doing the same on his cd. aka Mr clockwork on j cole album

and yea nigga tripping talking bout more about nothing is better than mixtape about nothing

Read it. Nice drop t/s.

That nigga Wale is emotional as fuck, I remember in Philly a nigga at powerhouse snatched off his skully nigga was actin tough with his security guards talmbout "Ay....Ay....Don't do it to yourself"

Some Taylor Gang niggas I know partied with him when they was with Wiz. They say he's real awkward around women too. (Probably explains the simping)

He hilarious on twitter just cause of the amount of feelings he catches from twitter on a daily basis. Niggas clown rappers and @ them ALL THE TIME. Nigga I know clowns Waka Flocka on a daily basis. Wale the only one catching feelings or tryna roast. He do be giving niggas bars sometimes. But there are rare occasions where niggas will be taking some brutal shots at Wale and his jokes don't be standing up, so he'll do some ultra hoe shit like say "I got more twitter followers than you'll ever have" or "I make more money in a day than you'll make in a _____ " Both real quotes. I've been following the nigga since I had a twitter, he's a good source of comedy.

As for the article, it's spot the fuck on. And I'm a fan. Dude is a hater, but he's caputred the "Wale Saga" really well. Nigga gets hate from all angles. DC for whichever reason (Being gogo fans, finding out he was raised in Maryland, simple crab in a bucket type niggas) don't fuck with Wale AT ALL.

I don't disagree with the article, there were some valid points in there...

Wale doesn't even know what type of artist he is...Meaning, you never know what Wale your gonna get... Are you gonna get mixtape Wale? Emotional Wale (yuck)? Fashion Wale? Spoken Word Wale? MMG Wale? Arrogant Wale? Suburb Wale? DC Wale? simp Wale? U never know who's gonna show up on the track...

Wale will be a nice ghostwriter in a few years.

Basically.

There isn't any overarching theme of how he sees society when he puts those tracks on the album....
He literally goes.. imma makes something for white girls (tries to hard and it comes out bad)... then imma make something for black girls (came out good).... then imma make something for those conscious hip hop fans.... then imma come up with something for the club

and in Wale's head putting all that shit together on an album will make it turn out great... its like adding too many ingredients to something
Thats why im saying he's inconsistent, not wack.... cause he'll put out a couple of great songs.. and then put out some really bad ones too

And to what T/S is arguing now, he does try to do too much. Like you're making all these Ambitious girl anthems and shit talking all that black queen shit, then next thing you know you drop illest bitch alive.

After like 3 straight simp level 10,00 tracks on Ambition you wanna be a man again?

He didnt put 90210, Chillin and then Shades on the same album then?
He didn't put Legendary and Slight Work on the same album?

Jay Z didnt put Allure and Change Clothes on the same album ?
50 cent aint put Baltimore Love Thing and Candy Shop on the same album ?
Tupac aint got Wonda why they call you bitch and Thug Passion on the same album ?

Post the lyrics to those songs so we can make an accurate comparison.

allure and change clothes were dope...
and yeah 50 fucked up with those two
and Ima a fan if Tupac... but he probably fathered what Wale is doing now.. but that's another discussion

but I get your point, artists pander to audiences all the time.... but wale does it a lot more is the point im making

Jay put out an album solely focused on one dynamic centred on soul beats
50 stayed gangsta on GRODT...
Tupac grew more and more as a gangsta rapper over time

outside of Mixtape About Nothing....Wale hasn't done this yet

I have read his Fader articles, browsed Cocaine Blunts, read his Tweets, and listened to his audio interviews.

Andrew Noz is not Chuck Creekmure, Elliot Wilson, Cheo Coker or even MC Serch......he's Deathrowzorrow, Synthesis, Jonathand & KTULU.

He's a Drake stalker, a V-Nasty supporter, a Big Trel groupie and the Howard Stern of Rap bloggers.

..however, I'm very pleased with his article because I always want to be on the opposite side of people like Andrew Noz just on principle :)

oh this is the same cat who posts on Cocaine Blunts?

i think its dumb azz fukk when people say a rapper tries to be too many different things/preople/rappers etc

how about an artist jus creating???

doin what they feel at the moment or even jus branching out or doin somethin different

only rappers gotta deal wit this shit

you gotta decide what kinda rapper u are,and thats all you can be

remind me of when my lil brother told me i couldnt come out wit a pop song that got hayley williams on it then follow up wit a street song because people wouldnt receive a street song from a nigga he jus had a song wit hayley williams on it

but WTF,

i do wtf i feel and wtf the beat tell me

if i hear some shit that sound like some pimp shit, guess what??? um spittin pimp shit on that track

if i hear a beat and it touch me and it make me think about sentimental shit, guess what??? this jus may be a conscious type track

an artist create,

an artist doesnt create THIS or THAT

an artist jus simply creates

What Im arguing that wale just doesn't create, he systematically tries to please people
that totally goes against the point you're trying to make

2 years ago that would have been dead on but that shit has changed. Everything else you said i can agree with. nigga is way too emotional. Every nigga I know round the way was playing this shit. When AD dropped niggas was like fuck that nigga straight up.

as for your question then, though I thought I answered it
in terms of his music (as an example) he tries to support the black girl lost movement but at the same time make a track glorifying the issues of a valley girl
That isn't highlighting society.. thats pandering to an audience and saying, "imm make a song cause people don't like the dark skinned out here, and then going around and saying, "imma make this song for the valley girl cause even though she rich she deserve it, and she'll love that im talking about her"

How you gonna do both?
