So yall really gon act like the anti vietnam movement was pushed by rock & roll, soul and other forms of art?

If a painting can start a revolutionary movement then so can music.

There is a reason they kept Public Enemy off the radio stations and pushed Hammer instead... yall see dollar signs? Fine....

I see mind control.

So you're saying that rap music is purposely used to control the minds of Black youth?

So wouldn't the racism that motivated this activity be more damaging than the activity itself, since the racism is broader and is the motivating factor behind numerous other damaging elements of society?

what y'all saying doesn't match reality...

what has gotten worse for blacks in the last 10 years that can be attributed to hip hop?

simple question... do your googles...

it's not just the acts of violence or lack of education...

it's the living beyond your means lifestyle that is popping right now...

and low and behold what has been one of the most polarizing topics this decade?

shitson!

Hold up... Hip hop is responsible for American consumerism?

There is a lot more that goes into organizing a revolution then having a theme song and a cool logo.

im not saying that it was the sole defining factor.

but its foolish to think that the seeds of revolution were not planted due to the bombardment of said style of music...

and that's really whats at play here...

the same people so easily manipulated by religion and a damn book can be swayed by music as well...

its the same level of bombardment...

When was this? What revolution are you talking about? PE sparked a revolution? The music only followed what was going on at the time. A lot of the politics was mainly due to a political movement focusing on such messages. Basically people like the Zulu Nation whom were children of the Civil Rights movement.

YES.

thank J Edna Hoover.

Exactly so you disagree with Geraldo then. What exactly are you arguing for or against?

If you guys don't think a rapper can glorify gang life, drug dealing and gun violence, you must not be listening to the good stuff.

In fact, you must not have heard any rap in the past 25 years if you deny that rap music CAN have a negative effect on youth via the lyrics.

Or maybe ya'll just sincerely don't remember what the Black community was like prior to the gangsta rap era.

Crack and gang infested?

with a lower high school graduation rate?

and higher crime rate?

and less college attendance?

Things that done more damage to black people than Hip-Hop

•absent fathers - be a man not a battyboi

•2008 financial crisis - wiped out "x" (go google for exact estimate) of black wealth

•employers who won't interview " black" sounding names with or without degrees

•gun violence - yes we can acknowledge decrease in crime but let's not act like shit is sweet, still way too many brothers dying

•cost of college - obscene student debts hurt a young adults to accumulate wealth

Add-on or disagree

Did you not read my original post? It was MKUltra centric. My argument this entire time has veen MKULTRA centric.

Perhaps if more actually knew what MKUltra was theyd understand why music is a deadly weapon.

Its used as torture in certain prisons is it not?

Used to also create a calming affect in certain prisons as well

Oh nigga I made a thread about how the US government infiltrated the hip hop scene in Cuba in an attempt to incite an uprising not too long ago. I wouldn't be surprised if they did that here as well to pacify Black people.
