In a precedent-setting deal - the first streaming VOD deal for a broadcast series made before its premiere - Netflix has come to an agreement with Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Distribution for the rights to the upcoming Batman-verse prequel series, Gotham.

As Deadline reports, Netflix will become the exclusive subscription VOD home of Gotham in the U.S. - as well as in each of the territories in which Netflix operates. It's believed that the deal is for somewhere around $1.75 million an episode.

I think they mean after the season is completed they have the rights to every episode like they do with other series on there that are not Netflix originals.
