I have teflon don and have heard it multiple times the album is good but not great. Definitely not 5 mics. A lot of the songs would have been better if Rick Ross wasn't on it. But hey that is just my opinion but that is what happens when there is a guest rapper on damn near every track on your album. Niggas start saying man this would have been hotter if so and so had more verses.
IMO the guest list on this album in no way OVERSHADOWS Ross. Let's explore this......
Free Mason- Ross more than held his own against Jay. The title is FREE MASON so why not put Jay on it, the conspiracy theorist WANTED this track, plus in the end the song is FIRE.... Shouldn't that be all that matters??
Tears of Joy- Ceelo provided nothing more than SOUL to this track. Ross carried the rest and did a damn good job. Bobby Seale on the rise......
MM3- since when has Ross NOT put other rappers on the maybach series??? It's the entire purpose of the track and guess what..... It's GOOD MUSIC
Live Fast Die Young- Kanye in VINTAGE FORM and Ross drops 2 great verses. "Im hot til the day ur day freezes"
Super High- Just another great collabo with Ross and a R&B singer on the hook
No.1- Again it's just DIDDY and Trey Songz. Diddy could easily be removed from this song and I wouldn't even notice
MC Hammer- Gucci actually hurts this song more than helps it.
BMF- Another BANGER Ross could have easily carried on his own.... Styles verse has grown on me but he is not needed, Ross just showing love
Aston Martin Music- Drake and Chrisette singing. Ross the only person RAPPING on this track
All the Money in the World- Again Raphael singin while Ross spittin......
So let's break it down........
Hook singers= John Legend, Ceelo, Trey Songz, Neyo, Raphael Saadiq, Chrisette Michelle, Drake, Eryka Badu
Rappers that are RAPPING- Jay Z, Jada, TI, Gucci, Kanye, and Styles
In the end it's a great product that's neither too long or too short and the collabos mostly ENHANCE the experience but Ross CARRIES the album. STOP BEING SO TECHNICAL AND JUST FEEL THE MUSIC.
