Dr. Dre And Jimmy Iovine Will Receive Senior Positions At Apple

If I'm Dre, I ain't trying to take no high profile position at a high-profile public traded company. A whole list of problems and restrictions come with that. And at this point, what's the benefit for him?

I called it, if it was me I'd have taken stock too, there's no catching Dre now it's OVER. He's going to be a billionaire many times over, and Hov, Puff, 50 will never be able to catch him. One thing I love bout Dre, nigga is quiet when he move and niggas forget about him until he strikes thunder. After Chronic niggas thought he was done then he came wit Eminem, then 50 Cent/G-Unit/Game and now Kendrick Lamar and TDE. It's funny cuz with Em and Fif niggas told him not to sign them. He dont need 1001 wins just the one win every decade to shut the game down. Jimmy Iovine was smart for following him into this move.

THIS is what 50 Cent should have done when he sold Vitamin Water, if he took the stock in Coca-Cola he would have been a billionaire many times over (Coca-Cola got better returns and competitive advantage than Apple) but oh well LOLOL, leave it to Dre to show niggas the way. I'm proud of Dr.Dre. The stock in Apple will appreciate over the longterm and it's profits will continue to rise, by the time Dre is 65 he'll prolly be in the multibillionaire club ($10 billion and up).

I agree, but i think you need to slow down by saying "50 Cent/G-Unit, Eminem & Kendrick".

I mean these artists were already around before and had buzz - especially 50/G-Unit & Kendrick - prior to their deal". Interscope just picked them up as they were steeming. Eminem wasnt even Dre's signee really. Someone introduced Eminem & his underground buzz & music to Iovine.

I knew of Kendric & TDE back in 2005-2006 when the only one with a deal with a major was Jay Rock - and to either Warner or Capitol at the time & they was fucking with Game alot.

Like i said, Dre is a brand. Thats not to say he isnt one of the greatest and isnt a legend who helped the culture. But facts gotta be facts my G.

"Winning" is an understatement at this point. I can't wait to hear the impending feeling laced rant from Suge. Oh well.....

As a member of the hip hop community I'm glad for Dre and his jewish handler. Get those coins. At the same time I definitely see why so many tech analysts are questioning it and calling Cook misguided. I mean 5 years ago this would've been monumental. But tech is moving so fast and coding is become so common that this is bound to seem like an outdated move in the immediate future and may not end up as fruitful as they expect. No matter how much music industry big wigs try to catch up to the reality of today's tech they're still far behind.

@Sion the GOAT

Tim Cook is a G though. There has been a battle between the music industry and Apple for years now. He basically found a loophole to help Apple gain traction in said battle. This is about Beats Music not the headphones. Dre and Jimmy especially Jimmy are highly regarded in the high ranks of that game. They have so much juice in the music game that they have the one streaming service that will make licensing music easy because of who they are. Now Apple gets to benefit from that network.

If music execs would've been smarter and aligned with Napster 16 years ago they wouldn't be in their current jam. Apple found a way to do it with itunes and on top of it they push the hardware that plays it back too. People wonder why Apple hasn't had a successful streaming service. The industry banked on Spotify is why and Apple needed to be more marketable. Music industry execs they're bitter as hell now but they have to play ball with Dre and Jimmy.
