Does anyone else think that it is unfair that Jay-Z has 14 Grammys but Nas has None?

No. Nas doesn't run the same race as JayZ. JayZ is in the Wayne, Drake, Eminem, Ludacris race. He makes music for the sake of making money and increasing his brand.

In comparison, Nas makes music for the sake of making good music. He stays true to the art form by choice, and he knows the results of making pro-black, grown people music. He knows he's not going to sell as much as the artist who rides the "what's hot now" wave, so you can't feel sorry for him when he doesn't get the level of commercial success that the guys who are trying to get commercial success get.

Put Nas in the KRS-One, Lupe, Mos Def, Black Thought, Wu-Tang category. Not the major label, attention seeking list.

...they have grammys though

SMH @ you clowns that can't stay on topic. How is your statement relevant? They still make for music for the sake of making good music. They still don't reach extra hard or hard at all for commercial success.

We still can't feel sorry for them if they never win another grammy, since they don't do all they can to be noticed on that 3000 spins a day radio level.

Nas doesn't make POPular music for the Grammy committee and suburbanite Caucasian and Uncle Tom consumers of Hip Hop...end of story.

Nas doesn't make entertaining music, get it right.

I'm more saddened that three 6 mafia have one.

Props to Three Six though because they been doing their thing for 20 years.

The fact they made a song about the hustles and hardships of a Memphis pimp trying to get into the rap game attracted the Grammy committee to the point they tried to get Terrence Howard to perform the song on stage with them in his D-Jay character from the movie...something just didn't click right and he declined it, but they won the Grammy anyways..I wonder why?

Shit Kanye has 19 grammys I believe and has been in the game half the amount of time with a third of their albums. I say that to say it doesn't matter who you are they give awards to who they want. Some are deserving some aren't but that doesn't make Nas any less of a great rapper.

its relevant because the group of artists you wanna place nas in due to the fact they dont make music for the sake of winning grammys, have actually won grammys

yet nas hasnt

You said it in the original post, jay makes more commercial music than Nas. With more commercial features. Long story short...he's mire digestible by white people. No surprise here.

Grammy's like any other academy in the entertainment industry is nothing but politics. Jay winning over Nas is just politics as usual.

Nas Lost.
