truth is we are all doomed from the start

the bible speaks against incest...when the world came from adams family of brothers and sisters who smashed each other...

Actually, in the later chapters of Genesis, after the actual creation story, there was mention of other people on Earth, not just the family of Adam and Eve, though there isnt a real explanation for it...

Also, it talks about angels communing with people freely and procreating with them, which would help explain the other people on Earth, if you need a literal explanation

its all assumptions, no solid proof that this important piece of information is valid...religious people imply it to try to not make it sound like a contradiction

No solid proof?

None of us were actually there dog lol

But if your looking for a logical connect then the second part of my post should answer that

And I'm saying this without any respect to the metaphorical value of the text, which is what most truly religious (and learned) ppl ascribe to

so your saying we can find solid proof of something that existed 65 million years ago but we cant find hard proof for something that existed 2010 years ago?

first off its 2010 AD, the beginning of the Bible is thousands of years B.C...so 2010 would be the number of years since Jesus crucifixion, or thereabouts, and not account for the thousands of years before that when creation would have occured...

Second, what ur not understanding is that most Christian scholars believe in the early books of the bible in a primarily allegorical or metaphorical sense, not literally

This is why the Catholic Church and most protestant denominations can cosign evolution and not be in contradiction with themselves

most Christians believe the bible is the infallible word of god...they would considered that metaphorical stuff blasphemy.

The metaphorical value is taught by the church LMAO

All im getting out of this is that ur getting most of ur info from people who say they are Christian as opposed to actual Christian followers or the Church itself, then blaming the religion for your confusion

Before I quit church and went on my quest I was told by my pastor the bible is the literal word of god and i should never question anything in it.

Then your pastor was wrong...

The Bible is the INSPIRED word of God

And if that's the case you should have asked your pastor how the church can reconcile itself with evolution without causing mass hysteria

They didnt believe in Evolution god created man and thats the end of it. I know this because a week before I left over the contradiction thing, I asked why we were so close to other animals DNA, and why older humans seem to point to our bone structure changing from an ape like appearance, they kicked me out and said until the devil leaves my brain dont come back basically, and I said well what answer my question and he said some shit like "do i look like a monkey to you?, and dont believe DNA its only used to fool you." So i was like fuck church after being constently ridiculed for siding with evidence.

Its was relatively recent that it finally became accepted by the Catholic church, and a lot of old school, hardcore religious folks would still argue, so I believe it.

Chances are your pastor just didnt know how to answer your question, so he just wrote it off. But honestly, answering that question would best be suited by reading the Papal response to the issue. Im far from Catholic but that would provide the most solid intellectual and theological answers i could think of off the top of my head.

http://www.papalencyclicals.net/

been all over there and found nothing about any of the contradictions that could help me to understand them better or disprove them. I emailed them even and the response I got back was one of ignorance and in short they said we dont talk to people who question things.
