Only bad thing about this movie was that Kerry didn't have too much of a bigger role.

What else could she do but be a bigger whore to the white mans' lust? You have to realize, Black women were only used as maids and fucktoys back then. and if you saw the movie, you know her character didn't play a maid.

2) Did you and the rest of niggas go get a drink or something when Waltz's character EXPLAINED exactly why they didnt just do that?

3) He wasnt hot about the money he was hot about "losing" to a scumbag like Candie. They even showed this with the flashbacks to Dartagnan being torn apart buy the dogs. He even made that point with his speech about Alexander Dumas

5) HE DID TELL HER THIS in German in his room...nigga did you actually watch this movie??

10) Nope, the only other dude that could have played Django would have been Will. And you know he aint putting in work on white people in a feature film. It would fuck with his money too much.

11) Calm the fuck down....

12) Sheba was the truth....

2. I peeped the horse metaphor. It didn't really jibe because it fell on its own logic.

You go to a farmer and ask to buy his horse for a reasonable price, and he turns it down. Ok. Then you ask to buy his house for a stupid amount of money and he relents.

Or, you could just ask to buy the horse for a stupid amount of money.

My point stands, because Calvin was not opposed to selling Brumhilda. She was for sale. He gave no fucks about her, the way the farmer in the metaphor gave a fuck about his horse. She was a slave bitch, of which he had dozens. The only reason Schultz couldn't have bought her straight up is because riding across states for one slave girl is suspect and would have raised flags.

We both agree he couldn't have just rode in there to buy her. Thats not the argument. I'm just disagreeing with the particular reason the movie gave and giving another.

3. He was hot about both. But good point.

5. lol, obviously he didn't emphasize it enough. Schultz "told" her in the verbose rhetoric style he used to talk to everyone, when he should have just said "Bitch, don't even look at this nigga or we all dead".

10. Nah, Idris Elba could have done it. There aren't that many high profile black actors these days, but any of them could have pulled off that role. All heavy lifting was done by Leo and Waltz. Not saying Jamie wasn't good, but did the role require an oscar-winning actor? Nah b.

11. Give respect where's its due.

12. Yessir.

Just seen it, it was cool.

Rosewood was way better but its cool.

Not a classic,but solid as a film.

I wouldn't ever recommend it.

We got better parts of our history we can make movies about but a cracker made it so fuck it.

It was straight. Jamie aint call none them crackers a cracker cause he a bitch.

Atleast his punk ass ain't wear a dress.

Cool fact jamie foxx used his own horse. Like a horse from his stable. so he is accustomed to riding a horse. this to say. I dont know how many other black actors could deal with the wear on the body that riding a horse all day like that.

You didn't seem to understand my comment, it meant I wanted to see more of her, nevermind.

Also Reginald Hudlin was an Executive Producer of Django....something that should be of interest.

Did this nigga sell out or sell down?

Bootleg was near perfect, never thought id be able to watch this so early.

Anyone else pissed by how easy Calvin got put away? Atleast the trillest character took his underwhelming ass out nh

2.) Shit makes perfect sense b. The whole point of the elaborate plan was to get Brunhilda (?) for the low low. Going to that white devil and making an outrageously claim meant that you would have to fulfill your part of the deal before you get the legal documents signing her over to you. Thus the whole plan of getting the desert honkey's interest by making a more then generous offer for a nigger fighter to mask getting brunhilda on sale.

just finished. wow.

so much for them rapes scenes and the other bullshit people were worried about, eh?

I'm in utter awe of how QT made it a "Greatest Hits" of the horrors of slavery....but not just the obvious ones that are almost cliche at this point like the rapes and whippings, naw, he gave you slaves being fed to dogs and now white journalists are rushing to write articles quoting white historians reassuring white america that "Mandingo Fighting" was totally made-up and there certainly weren't any slave owners pitting their slaves against each other in brutal combat for their own amusement - that'd be crazy!

Shit, racist white people need to shut the fuck up with their complaining and just thank White Jesus that QT left the alligators and black babies alone.

my grand pops once told me some shit like that before.... smh.

this is the total alternative to roots, roots was real shit, this is 2012, comedy/weak shit compared to that.

Idris Elba , and Michael Kenneth Williams were considered for the role apparently.

I'm glad Will Smith didn't do it, but I can't say Stringer or Omar as Django wouldn't have been interesting.

a side gun bullet right through the flower to his heart. for a second i though he had a vest on or some shit and would come back to life.

leo and sam jack both need to get an award for this movie.

1. Why did the australians give Django a gun at the end? Just dumbass, ignorant cracka shit. What you think he gonna do?

2. I asked the same question someone else did about why they didnt just go in to buy Brumhilda. My guess is it would have too suspicious to ask about her right away. Who rides 5 days to buy a single slave girl?

3. Schultz clapped Candie because he was hot about paying 12k for Brumhilda. Remember they weren't gonna drop the 12k on the fighter, they were just gonna buy her for 3 bills and then dip. 12k was a LOT of damn money, especially back then. He blew an entire winters worth of whole bounty stacks on that bitch, money he wasnt planning on paying for anything.

He was hot about losing his money, then Candie tried to rub it in. Thats what the handshake was. If he had paid $300 for her and Calvin wanted a handshake, duke would have dapped him up, shook his hand, gave him a hug, whatever.

4. Steven made Uncle Ruckus look like Malcolm X. I was taken aback by his level of sheer coonery and uncle tom-ness. Nigga wasn't prepared for that, had to adjust to it and shit.

5. Schultz should have told that silly broad Brumhilda not to make it so fucking obvious she knew Django. She was glancing at him every 5 seconds. Sit her and Django down and tell them not to fucking look at each other all night.

6. Fuck Brumhilda and Kerry Washington.

7. That hotbox is no joke, I didn't know about that.

8. Only real brutal part of the movie was the dog fatality.

9. Leo had the best performance of the movie.

10. Most black actors could have done Jamie Foxx's role.

11. Christoph Waltz is one of the best actors of our time.

12. Candie's house bitch >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Good question. The Steven/Uncle Ruckus one was obvious but I didn't know about the Django/Catcher Freeman. Not a big Boondock watcher but it would make sense.
