the plot writing could of been better. candi was killed to abruptly IMO if i was reversed and shultz skilled stephen before the hand shake and django killed candi by blowing up the house no one could complain about anything.

QT fucked up, because the perception is stephen was a bigger villan than candi was.

Maybe, but even at that....that is a creative issue. To claim that the film or QT is racist or harbours some sort of racist undertones is idiotic.

if the movie was about django why would shultz need his own villian who he only killed becuz he was mad that he just paid 12 bands to free a slave and im not caping for stephen but if you cant realize that the final act of violence was the field nigga vs the house nigga you just plain stupid

Mr Miagi didnt have Cobra Kai? Nigga do you even watch movies??

So a field nigga killing a house nigga is a problem for you now??

Dude is going to continue to nitpick lol I remember him being offended that the Heat were celebrating in the locker room after taking out the Celtics in the ECF last year.

Wait what?

what was so heroic about what django did that nigga didnt even free any slaves nor did he free his wife schultz did that

Didnt watch the movie post....

nigga i have the movie you just weren't paying attention enough to realize what that nigga actually accomplished without the help of shultz

You mean like out smarting the australian crackers, and freeing those slaves, or when he freed ALL the slaves from CandieLand when he alone took down the entire cracker army. All done after Shultz is dead.

his objective wasnt freeing them tho it was gettin his wife them niggaz was just there and he killed a bunch of random white folk that added nothing to the story shultz got to kill candie who was the main villain and the last person he killed was a slave that was cracking jokes that shit irked me

1) Hero's don't save damsel's in distress?

2) Random white folk?? As opposed to those unique and individualistic random villains that every other hero kills by the hundreds.

3) The last person he killed was the real villain, he was Django's anthesis just as Candie was Shultz anthesis. Stephen was the POLAR opposite of Django. He was everything Django despised and wasnt....thats why he was the last to die.

Django is actually a very cliche hero, damsel in distress: Check, Mentor: Check, long journey where he learns: Check...you guys just dont want to like it because a White guy made it. If this exact film word for word and shot for shot was made by a black director it would be getting BET/Hood awards till the day he died.

Real talk. Cats are talking about shit they just don't get.

Just watched it, no different from them BHM movies we bout to be bombarded wit next month, difference is, Django we win

Niggas blew that "nigger" shit out of proportion, I repeat, I felt no different about the use of the N word in this film than I did from say Mississippi Burning, I started to feel like I didn't hear it enough, repeat again, only difference is we win in Django

The scene when he took a sip a that beer made me think, like them niggas didn't even know what beer taste like

I fuck wit Tarantino for this movie, he a little insensitive as a person but I can dig it for the movie, he can't help it he just another cracka obsessed with African American culture

We needed a modern day visitation of slavery, I peeped it's another slave flick droppin this fall, niggas prolly won't even say shit about it

Yep Tara, keep on keepin them White bitches intrigued in the forbidden fruit

What I picked up from that was the house niggas was goin harder than the masters, and house niggas did go to the extreme to protect massa

Ever seen Alex Haley's Fiddler

i have seen roots and the next generations many times. fiddler wasn't a villain, he help kinte many times actually.

Finally seen the movie and yea the use of Nigger wasn't an issue for real after seeing it

yea the last scene was some black on black shit made it more about the house nigga vs the field nigga

and the white savior shit is stupid there was about 30 white characters in the movie and only 1 was likeable and it's not like he was the one who saved the day at the end

overall good movie but too dam long

Watched it last night...I read the script back in summer...he made a lotta changes...In the script I read, there were two rather violent rape scenes...There's a lot more cracka killin'...I thought Leo was dope...Waltz too...But, like everyone else, I've gotta few gripes...

Firstly, Django can read and speak very well...Secondly, he gets mad dope with that gun mad quickly...Thirdly, you don't really give a fuck about Broomhilda...They could have given more flashbacks of her so that the audience can connect with her and Django's ambitions more personally...She was hardly on screen...And Django had to kill Stephen...I've got no issue with that...Its not really one black killin' another...its more a slave killin' a traitor...

In the draft, there were a few scenes that explained the life of slave 'ponies'...IE, nice lookin' bitches...That ho is wearin' premium clothes and drinkin' premium booze in Candie's place all willy nilly...They could have at least put a line or two explainin' why that's the case.

I also found it mad out of character when Waltz shot Candie

Lastly, I thought it was a lil fake how quickly Stephen realised that not only do Django and Broomie kno' each other, but they're in love, Django is posin' as a Mandingo fightin' expert because Candie wouldn't care about a £300 purchase...(Which is also a lil silly...he's a business man, isn't he?...Waltz cudda just said, "fam, a pretty slave that can speak German...I want her for £600...He wudda got her coz she's all scarred up and not worth a damn)

Anyways I thought it was mad entertainin'...Dialogue was dope., as expected...think I'll give it a 7.5...no no...an 8

Why Will Smith Turned Down Django Unchained

Actor says the title role wasn't big enough.

by Max Nicholson MARCH 25, 2013

When Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained was first announced, many thought that Will Smith was a shoe-in for the title role. However, Smith has revealed in a recent interview that he turned down the part because it wasn't big enough.

"Django wasn't the lead, so it was like, I need to be the lead. The other character was the lead!" Smith told EW.com, referring to Christoph Waltz's Dr. King Schultz. But before he left the project, Smith said he implored Tarantino to give Django a more central role in the film. "I was like, 'No, Quentin, please, I need to kill the bad guy!'"

Interestingly, Waltz's Schultz was considered the supporting role during Oscar season, while Jamie Foxx's Django was promoted as the lead.

In the end, though, Smith said he still enjoyed the film. "I thought it was brilliant. Just not for me."

Been saying this. Django was like, the 4th most interesting person in that movie.

God help everyone who makes a big deal out of the N word being used if they ever make a movie of Huckleberry Finn. I'm not saying I agree with crackas saying it, but that's how shit was back then. that was the dialect.

Who is the most interesting person in Pulp fiction or Jackie Brown? Its how he makes his movies...... and It works.

So Will will provably never be in a QT movie.
