You go to a farmer and ask to buy his horse for a reasonable price, and he turns it down. Ok. Then you ask to buy his house for a stupid amount of money and he relents.

My point stands, because Calvin was not opposed to selling Brumhilda. She was for sale. He gave no fucks about her, the way the farmer in the metaphor gave a fuck about his horse. She was a slave bitch, of which he had dozens. The only reason Schultz couldn't have bought her straight up is because riding across states for one slave girl is suspect and would have raised flags.

We both agree he couldn't have just rode in there to buy her. Thats not the argument. I'm just disagreeing with the particular reason the movie gave and giving another.

2.) Shit makes perfect sense b. The whole point of the elaborate plan was to get Brunhilda (?) for the low low. Going to that white devil and making an outrageously claim meant that you would have to fulfill your part of the deal before you get the legal documents signing her over to you. Thus the whole plan of getting the desert honkey's interest by making a more then generous offer for a nigger fighter to mask getting brunhilda on sale.

2. I asked the same question someone else did about why they didnt just go in to buy Brumhilda. My guess is it would have too suspicious to ask about her right away. Who rides 5 days to buy a single slave girl?

3. Schultz clapped Candie because he was hot about paying 12k for Brumhilda. Remember they weren't gonna drop the 12k on the fighter, they were just gonna buy her for 3 bills and then dip. 12k was a LOT of damn money, especially back then. He blew an entire winters worth of whole bounty stacks on that bitch, money he wasnt planning on paying for anything.

4. Steven made Uncle Ruckus look like Malcolm X. I was taken aback by his level of sheer coonery and uncle tom-ness. Nigga wasn't prepared for that, had to adjust to it and shit.

5. Schultz should have told that silly broad Brumhilda not to make it so fucking obvious she knew Django. She was glancing at him every 5 seconds. Sit her and Django down and tell them not to fucking look at each other all night.
