Actually all you need is an email address and an account anywhere online linked to that email address and anyone can find info on you. All the internet is, is a big ass file cabinet. Anything pertaining to that topic will be dropped in a forever open file. Certain things will be protected while other things are open to the public, shit you may have forgotten about.

Marketing firms are using that to their advantage now. For example, let's say you bought something from Amazon a coat perhaps. What marketing firms and other companines are doing is thay will see that you bought a coat from Amazon, and will advertise that particular brand on another site you may have an account on. So you might read a north face banner on this site, but won't even realize that it is catered specifically to you and your buying history online.

It seems like no big deal, but that implies that companies have enough access to your personal info without you having to be on social networks that are rumored to sell people's info. The moment you go public online, you are now open to the public. Obama and the rest of the government has no idea how big this is, but they say shit to make us believe that they have it all under control, but they don't.

lol @ thinking they need an email address to do all that. Supercookies and IP addresses are all they really need.

Amazon doesn't have a publicly searchable directory that lets you search for a person and enables you to see their whole transaction history. People also generally don't post retarded shit on sites like Amazon. (As opposed to social networking sites)

Marketing firms have been collecting credit card transaction records for decades now, how is what you describe any different?

How will me buying a winter jaccet online affect my chances of getting a job? It won't.

I'm pretty sure you don't even know what the "Identity Ecosystem" that the Obama Administration is pushing is.

IP addresses are an easy enough problem to get around, and if you use an email address that is in no way tied to anything else you do, there's not a whole lot these companies can get outta you. Tie that with a browser set to purge EVERYTHING every time you close it and your cookie problem goes away too.

True, some "supercookies" aren't easily deleted though, and most people don't care about their IP/using fake emails. Especially when they're doing something that involves their personal address, credit card #s, etc., since doing that won't really matter anyways. (Like online banking/e-commerce)

I temporarily deleted my Facebook earlier this month, just to see how it would feel to really get off the shit...I'm pretty much ready to get rid of it all together now...And my twitter actually got hacked last week, so I de-activated it...I was surprised to find that they keep yo info for 30 days before they get rid of it, they on the same shady shit as Facebook...And that facial recognintion was somethin that freaked me out when they started usin it on Facebook, and then when I heard they were gonna bring a video chat, I was like nothing good can come of this.

lol @ Facebook programmers reading my thread. They're rolling out some new updates

http://techcrunch.com/2011/08/23/fa...-update-photo-tag-approvals-and-so-much-more/

1) You will be able to approve tags of you before they show up on your profile
(i.e. someone tags a picture of you, you must say yes or no before that photo goes on your wall)

2) You will be able to tag people you dont know in photos
(i.e. say you had a photo you put up and wanted to tag people. you may not know everyone on the photo or be friends with them. facebook finds them and tags them and as stated above, they can choose whether they want that on their wall)

3) Facebook will allow you to delete your tag on a photo, ask for that photo of you to be taken down and to report abuse for that photo.

Yes. The Facebook Nerds have finally listened. I've deleted my shit but, Im thinking about re-activating it for a few days to clear this problem. For some reason a friend of mine from High School uploaded alot of questionable photos of me (and our boys) online. I told others to take down photos of me and they did fast. I asked him and he said cool but, never did. I'm a give that nigga one more chance before I start flagging those pics.

Convo went somethin like:

Rey Negro: Ayo....was good

Old friend: chyllin

Rey Negro: Can you delete those photos bruh...its not a good look

Old friend: what photos?

Rey Negro: The photos you have of me from high school

Rey Negro: It's not a good look

Old friend: *puzzled*

Rey Negro: Bruh. I have a 3.9 gpa. Im applying to a lot of prestigious firms. I dont think Sidley Austin will like that there's photos on Facebook of me with my middle fingers up and bloodshot eyes. You put that shit up. You're the only one with those photos cousin. Take that shit down.

Old friend: *puzzled* aight

Rey Negro: (thinking: this Walmart ass nigga doesn't get it)

Dayum son...got a nigga running through his memory banks for anything incriminating. Shit, I remember trying to work for this company and I found it weird that they wanted to befriend me on FB, the place where my shit was just hanging out. Since then I deleted my profile and I told myself I'm not doing FB anymore. Its too easy for whomever that wants to watch you. Cats posting location updates...tagging photos. I just started thinking about that shit one day and deleted my pro with the quickness before any other possible damage can be put into the equation. Meanwhile the masses are putting their life schedule on that site...its bugged out for real

that's the thing I don't get about Facebook...why has it become so popular to let everyone know exactly where you're at every moment of the day? That tracking shit is dangerous...somebody's gonna get killed behind that shit

Fake celebrity status; that's why. Niggas really think they're so fuckin important or popular that everyone really gives two shits about what they're doing every minute of the day. It's all attention whoring. FB/Myspace/Twitter's appeal lies in giving the people that weren't popular in high school the ability to be popular... even if it isn't real.

FOH niggas having 1000+ "friends" like it means something.

nigga... you ain't makin 1200+ calls, visits, or dappin nowhere near that many niggas or huggin that many bitches. FOH with them mother goose fairy tales and shit. The niggas I know, I've been hangin with in real life for decades. Those are real friends. That's the niggas that I can hit up if I'm short or need a spot to crash. Those are the niggas that got my back and I got theirs. When it's time for business moves, we all reach out to one another 'cause that's how we do it. Out of all the people I've known over the years I have maybe 10 dudes that I can call my friends for real. There's even some women that are straight down for a nigga if the shit has to go there. I guarantee you this... in 20 years, them 1200 "friends" ain't gonna have ya back if some shit goes down. Some nigga that used to beatbox in the lunchroom in high school ain't ya friend.

Like I said, this shit is for unpopular niggas to make believe that they were popular.

I've noticed whenever I log into facebook. More single mothers post more about how theirthe baddest, how they smashed their enemy's nigga or how much in love they're currently is & uploading pictures everyday instead of talking about how good of a parent they're to their children
