this link is Google's FAQ section about removing yourself from their search engine. Im just delving into it, so I don't know everything. Search things like "Digital Footprint", "Removing my information from the Internet", "Removing my private information from online", etc. I know Facebook/Twitter photos are pretty much the tattoo ink of the web. Its there for life.

Keep anything you wouldn't want anyone to see off of those type of site, I don't think it's that serious. It's all in how you use it, of course stupid people post all their business and illegal shit they do on there, you just have to be smarter, that's all.

I knew years ago back in 04 what Facebook would turn into. My homeboy deactivated his Facebook back in 05 he did a google search on his name and his Facebook shit is completely wiped out, nothing showed with his name. My homegirl deleted hers last year. She then did a google search of her name and lo and behold it automatically pulled up her "deactivated" Facebook account. I guess before Facebook became so big it would still delete everything but NOW...that shit is public domain to the fullest.
And take into account Mark Zuckerburg is a Billionaire. How did he become a Billionaire thru a service that is supposed to be "free"?
Simple...thru selling profiles to companies, agencies, gov't. Cuz everyone put all of their damn business on Facebook.
I'm 25 now and predicted all of this shit at 19. And it came to fruition.
