The two black women in here sound like they buy into that "he's an arrogant prick" bc he won't apologize for something he was acquitted of 17 years ago...
Y'all hear what y'all wanna hear and I'm not responsible for that.

Guilty or not, he is missing an opportunity to gain a plethora of support just by speaking out about rape, taking responsibility for engaging in risky behavior and having empathy for contributing to an environment that resulted in awful consequences for those involved.
The Lonious Monk;9407571 said:Rape is one of those things, you'll never get a reasonable discussion on because people are so polarized regarding it.
Most rape victims are women, so right off the bat, most women will identify more with an accuser than the accused. If you male who would never rape a woman then the concept of rape is dismissed from your mindset. So in a case like this, men identify more with the accused because that's the position we're more likely to find ourselves in. Women don't understand that, and typically write it off as men defending rapists.
The major problem I have with a lot of women on this subject is that they want due process to be thrown away all together. They seem to feel like we should just take a woman's word for it, put no effort into getting the truth, and convict even if there isn't really enough evidence to support a conviction. And even in a case where a person went through the process and was found to be not guilty, a lot of women won't accept it and will continue to treat the man like a rapist or abuser.
I understand what @obnoxiouslyfresh and @Westie are trying to say, but they are refusing to acknowledge how wrong it is for someone to be constantly badgered for something they themselves and the justice system said they didn't do. Like why should he be expected to be empathetic or remorseful when you have people who are essentially trying to tear him down and ruin his life?

She didn't act as a white supremacist anything. What she did was present him with an opportunity. She asked him to speak to those people who are struggling with the idea of supporting his film because of what they perceive as a lack of empathy on his part. That is the essence of his responses. Guilty or not, he is missing an opportunity to gain a plethora of support just by speaking out about rape, taking responsibility for engaging in risky behavior and having empathy for contributing to an environment that resulted in awful consequences for those involved.
He doesn't have to do any of this. And people don't have to watch his movie. In a vacuum, that sounds all well and good. But he DOES want people to see his film and those people want to hear certain things. That's where it gets complex. Unfortunately, he's not doing a good job of selling the film. He's smug and insufferable. At this point, I would rather watch Charlie Manson play Mandela.

Going to a niggas house after 11 and not assuming the nigga is trying to fuck is stupid. Smoking and drinking with a group of niggas and u the only chicks is stupid. I was born and raised in la. I can get shot on any day and it'll be a sad story. I increase my chances of getting shot by stepping out in all blue or all red.
But the re al issue at hand that no one wants to address and that proves a point I've been saying on here for years is women need to stop assuming that straight men and straight women can be platonic friends. That's where yall get shit fucked up. All these situations involve chick's chilling with niggas they thought were friends. I have a dick. U have a pussy. Not saying I'm raping anything because that's not my get down, but I'm not out here trying to be your friend. Understand that shit and don't put yourself in compromising situations

Logic vs y'all females arguing with emotion. If he is innocent and felt that he was lied on no need to show any empathy

Tell them how silly it is and obviously they don't understand the American justice system. I'd tell em let's move on or were done here. Film is already known worldwide. Y'all seen how they have mixed BLM in the commercial for the movie tho? I was like: BLM wasn't around back then. But I see what they're not trying to do but doing to stir the pot.
I haven't. Can you post a link to the commercial?
Thats some wild shit
