I kno Jacque Cousteua is a deep sea diver bruh dont try to make it seem like Canibus is goin ova my head lol my point is he raps bout shit dat make u be like " who cares dawg"

Canibus raps about politically aware topics, philosophy, esoteric knowledge, fellowship of mankind, and clever lines. Basically youre saying that you don't care about real world issues, the nature of reality from a philosophical standpoint, dope references, rich artistry, wide range of topics, or anything else that represents the beauty of life. Youre saying all that matters is mind numbing degenerate subject matter.

damn bruh da way dis post is u makin it seem like Canibus died for my sins

Canibus is cool...in small doses but that nigga insists that I, or anyone else for that matter, want to hear him rap for ages about nonsense. I've only actually finished one Canibus album and I can't remember a hook, bar, beat, or nothing off the motherfucker because he bored me so much.

Metaphorically speaking he did. Canibus crucified himself for the sins of Hip Hop.

"My mission is completed

That's why I started the battle by praising Jesus

I stood there in front of the world and took a dagger to the heart

Then I launched 10,000 bars"

-- Canibus (RTJ2 2012 A.D.)

stop trollin yo LMFAO

I'm not making that shit up, go listen to the lyrics. He didnt quite die for the sins of Hip Hop, but he did crucify himself to be resurrected as a new being. Canibus was never respected enough so he decided to kill Canibus, sacrifice himself and resurrect as a new being. Rip the Jacker slash Rip the Robot.

Again, look at his lyrics, I ain't makin this up.

Sad thing is Can-i-bus is truly a lyrical prodigy. You can call him ahead of his time or a throwback to true raw lyricism, either/or. Talent like his can create a huge ego or make an artist hard to work with. It's a shame he didn't link up with a solid manager and A&R and other people who could handle the business for him and let him create his art. There's plenty of artists who aren't on a major label who have solid production for mixtape and album releases and get their music direct-to-fans.

stop it 5 the shit ain't that serious.

Used to love listening to Canibus but this is just terrible. Lyrics are one thing and I will always believe is the most important ingredient to a song. But song structure, hooks and beats are essential to make a classic. This is just jumbled up rhymes spit over shitty beats with no sense of structure or purpose. This is actually pretty sad.

That's taking it a little too far.

He's human and he has flaws, but he can rhyme his ass off.

Him making a "self sacrifice" will not change how he's perceived, nor will it create anymore interest in any of his upcoming projects, outside of the fanbase he's already established (which is diminishing).

You're beating a dead horse.

Plenty of people on this site aren't feeling him and that's alright.

That's their choice.

What I do find funny is the type of reaction he gets for rhyming this:

The deity regards emcees like me piously

(Canibus- "Layered Prayers")

Don't be an optimist, and try to rock with Bis

You'll end up in an iced-out sarcophagus

(Canibus-"Tibetan Black Magicians")

While others get:

Is Pious pious, cause God loves pious?

(Jay-Z- "No Church in The Wild")

Put the pussy in a sarcophagus

Now she claiming that I bruised her esophagus

(Kanye West-"Monster")

Maybe TheLaureate is projecting Canibus a bit more seriously than he warrants. The fact remains though, Canibus has truly given as much as he can for what he loves, lives and dies to do. And in the true sense of what the "Artform" should illicit in people, at least he should be considered on his content and what he offers in his catalog.

Where we're at right now though, that's no longer the case. People seem to just pass extremely idiotic judgement, bypassing any artistic expression to shit on artists who are really about the artform, Hip Hop. Yet they turn around and project those who appear to have a lack of talent as being nice.....

I guess what I'm trying to say is, the average rap/hip-hop fan these days are so below what is required for the art to be taken seriously, that artists such as Canibus, Kendrick Lamar, Slaughterhouse, Tech Nine, Immortal Technique (and the list goes on) can not get their offerings appreciated accordingly.

The other day on Shade 45, someone sent in a song to be listened to and critiqued. The guy was going off with Lyrics, beat was on point and the overall presentation was produced well. The cats at the radio station even said the same thing.... yet, they all turned around and gave the track a thumbs down because as one of the dj's said, "it was great and all, but I don't want to sit and listen to 5 minutes of lyrics, no matter how dope it is."

That's where we're at now and that's why Hip Hop is disrespected to the level it is: the audience.

Last thing, I bet most won't even read this whole post because upon first glance it'll appear to be too long. That's called a loss.
