Again, you can listen to however many songs you want. It's not going to be 50 one-hundred bar marathon songs. His first single from the album has a chorus and 3 verses like a normal song.

no we should not scorn artist who do that..but good albums are about cohesion and the truly great albums you should be able to listen to front to back..it is practically impossible to do that with this unless u have no social life whatsoever..

of course i can listen to a song how i want..i can listen to illmatic in 5 second increments if i want but thats not how its meant to be listened to..im sure bis doesnt expect us to listen to it 9 hours straight but thats cuz its not even a realistic possibility and that is a huge fail as far as making a good ALBUM goes..he has many other fails but i'll stick to the topic at hand

The sad thing is. With all the skill that Canibus has to craft together crazy lyrics, if he had put his energy and efforts into making a really good album that had a great theme and great sound, he could've made oodles of money and become even bigger than he was when he first started despite being underground and independent.

The thing that seemingly hasn't sunk in with Canibus is that all those highly complex lyrics he puts together about black holes and quasars and the mixture of pseudoscience with real science can work if you fit it into the right theme and make it understandable to the audience.

The audience doesn't not like to hear that stuff. Hell, Big Pun rapped that way a bunch of times, but he understood that the audience doesn't want to be translating metaphors in their head for twenty 4-minute songs. And it's more appealing and more crafty to bust some normal shit and then turn it into something totally left field with crazy complex lyrics. Then you have the audience like "ohhh shit!" and weening through verses and songs to waiting to hear the next crazy shit you're gonna say.

Basically, you gotta tone it down to a 6 or 7 or 8, just to ensure the audience doesn't get fatigued from your style. When you're going at them with lyrics that are constantly 10, they're going to get fatigued. And when you don't measure up to your own standard, the people will say you fell off even faster than they do about other rappers.

Just take for example, Big Pun's lyrics on "Where Ya At". He could've kept it at a 10, but doesn't, and it makes the planet and the moon and the stars shit that much more impactful:
