Basically the housing unit is set aside for people interested in the problems affecting the black community. It's a themed living space and I'm guessing they will be promoting charity and civil work that can be accomplished towards that end. It's not even limited to black people. Anybody can live there as long as they want to be part of the program.

• WE DEMAND Black scholarships geared to black students who are both athletes and non-athletes. (Vague and general. This means nothing. There are tons of scholorships for black americans, poor americans, ect.. Like what do you want? The federal government to allocate more funds to Cal state, orrrrrr..?)
  
• WE DEMAND the creation of a Master’s program in the Pan African Studies Department. (You cant demand something like that. There is a process to getting such a program created. Otherwise people would demand a call of duty class, since a shit ton of people play it, and would join)
  
• WE DEMAND the hiring of ten tenured track professors in the Pan African Studies Department. We also DEMAND a continuous commitment to the hiring of Black faculty across all academic disciplines. (This is obviously silly, and you cant demand a fucking tenured professor. You work towards tenure. You never get hired, and get that shit off top. Clearly they dont know how this works. I know, my girl is working on her phd right now)
  
• WE DEMAND more Black students hired for on-campus, student assistant, work positions. (Are they applying in the first place? I would probably guess its safe to assume theyre not, or not a lot. You cant demand something that people arent choosing to be involved with in the first place, and just because some black people arent hired for those positions, doesnt mean theyre vetting them based on race)
  
• WE DEMAND CSLA immediately divests ALL its investment holdings (active, passive, direct and indirect) from the private prison corporations of Corrections Corporation of America and the GEO Group. (ARE YOU SERIOUS!?)

Almost all colleges across the united states of america are liberal leaning. Theyve been that way since the hippies came in decades ago, and established themselves with a stronghold in academia. This is not news. So yes, i assume your university is liberal, just like the vast majority of them all. Considering they just blocked ben shapiro from speaking there, because the liberal fascist students at california state university were acting a fool, and for no good reason they blocked him from speaking there.

Its still kind of the same thing as the original post. Its still housing primarily directed at black students who need a safe space from differing opinions, but technically anyone can join, because segregation is illegal. Latimes is just kind of rewording what was already in the OP. We know this isnt new, but its a new day and age, and people have new criticisms. I mean, there has always been different racial clubs, gender clubs, ect.. at schools across the nation. Which is different than actual dedicated housing. Themed housing must be new within the past decade TOPS, or im woefully ignorant.

We understand why this is a problem though. People naturally already choose bubbles to float through life in. This is normal. The college experience should aim to challenge and break some of that bubble experience down though. When youre basically waking up in a bubble, quickly going through the outside world (classes, food, ect..), and then back to your bubble as a young person, youre not going to be a well adjusted adult in the coming years.

Lemme breathe a second, and show emapthy for the situation. Humans are very tribal, i get this, and historically oppressed groups of people have different perceived necessities than others. That said, having a black club, gay club, asian club, whatever, fine. When you get into themed housing, especially with todays pseudo liberal wannabe activist students on campus, i just personally find that a step backwards in stepping towards america popping this bubble problem we have.

Thats just me though i guess. Also, the demands though. lol
