But we had ppl like cornell west, angela davis, tim wise (ugh) and other prominent political and race theory figures protest the school from taking away the program.
The masters program isnt going to come about because they REALLY do not see a need for it when theres an Lantix and Asian masters program.
That's messed up. Why does having an Asian Masters program preclude the need for a Pan African Masters program? What kinda dumbass logic is that?
lol And why you say "ugh" with Tim Wise? Dude drops a lot of knowledge. He might be white, but at least he acknowledges that he learned everything he speaks on from blacks. You know how it is. Some white people will only believe shit if they hear it from a white mouth, so we need people like him.

Niggas who ain't never enrolled in the school are arguing with alumni about how their school is lmao. Shit is comedy
It's really funny.
And sad
Yall like the idea of black people standing up but dont like the action of black people standing up. Fucking keyboard activists.
So people can't be for "standing up" without disagreeing with why a particular group is standing up or what they are trying to accomplish?
I mean I've retracted and now that I understand it better, I think what they've done is dope, but what you're saying doesn't seem to be a fair sentiment.
Racism and logic never goes hand in hand.
Why would they have a masters program, when they are trying to cut every black studies course. Plus, csula was the first school with black studies in the US. This is why these issues are a big ordeal because of the history.
Sharing a common experience with other black students is beautiful because in fall 15 quarter one professor gave 5 black students all Cs when they all had As on the midterm and Bs on the final.
The school did nothing.
This is why the pan african studies department or the pan african cultural center, which is invaded by a lot of students who are not black, these voices are needed because black students need a voice that can amplify theirs.
Just because KKK is not on school campus wearing their sheets, they are just like you and I, normally dressed people with a hidden agenda. Los Angeles is very racist and anti-black.
The black students are 2.5-3% of the student population. They really do need a safe space to learn and congregate about their experiences.
Agree with most of that to an extent, but getting a C overall, even though you got A's on your midterm and B's on the final literally means nothing.
As you very well know, professors and classes arent created equally. Grading far from created equally. Like i said, my girl is working on her phd now, im done with that chapter in my life (college, not phd. lol), and ive seen how these professors are grading shit all wonky at times. Thats not a sign of racism though, nor is it a sign of sexism for her, even though she tries to make it out to be at times until she comes back to reality that shes just under performing at the moment.
You cant get a C if you didnt earn a C. You cant just get all A's and B's on homework, test, and the like, and then just get a C. There are professors that refuse to give A's, regardless of race. My girl had one, but thats rare, and usually based on the urban legends from under achieving grad students.
But like i said, i agree with the rest. Ive lived in san deigo. California doesnt have overt racism that much in the main areas you would fuck with. Its a very covert prejudice, with some pings of straight up racism. This idea though that its all vegan, hippy life is not fully true at all. Never had any race issues in san diego, but at one point it hosted a large chapter of the KKK just 25 minutes from La Jolla. That no longer exist, but just tells you the history of cali not being all beaches, progressiveness, and surfing.
Grades are based on simple math. Stop the titangraphs.
Sigh. Im telling you professors and their grading are not created equally. You can have 3 different classes, with 3 different grading scales. One professor could put more emphasis on grading based on his test, and less on his homework. The next professor the complete opposite. The following professor a mixture of both, with the willingness to "float" a person up a grade level if they get like lets say a 78, but to get a B is an 80. So he will just float them up to 80 since they fall within whatever arbitrary range he/she decided.
If its based on simple math as you say, then you dont get an undeserved C. Unless youre telling me that C was only due to their race, and not any academic underachievements.
