my mom was like that indian mother from bend it like beckham, "how do you expect to marry a nice boy and you can't cook a 7 course meal". i think it's a culture thing. i've been cooking since i was 8 or 9, like really cooking and making meals. to us it's nothing worse than having grown daughters and your house being dirty or their mother has to cook, people get talked about bad behind that shit. i don't think i ever saw my dad cook or clean once my entire childhood.



aside from all that, i really enjoy cooking, and martha stewart is one of my icons (she's the best to ever do it), my hubby got me her Baking Handbook the other day, her cinnamon roll recipe is to die for

The chick I'm dating now is 23 and Jamaican and can cook, clean, and takes care of herself very good. In this generation it's rare to find a women like that who's African American.
