You understand the negative stigma that comes with certain behavior or decisions and you make them anyway. You're not fit work for my company, especially a job where you'll be constantly seen and spoken too

They've become increasingly mainstream and that has diminished the artistry.
I've been getting tattoos since I was 15 years old, and I've slowly added to my collection of body art for the past 10 years.
I have both sleeves done and it's a work in progress. When I tell people how much time and money i've spent on my artwork they look at me like i'm crazy. I grew up on the school of thought that good artistry knows no price, especially when its going to be on you forever. I'll pay top dollar for quality artwork, no questions asked. The problem is that so many people are going to back alley scratchers (scratchers=shitty artists) and ruining their bodies because they don't have the mind to set an appointment and plan out a piece with a good artist. They want it right then and there and end up with bad, albeit inexpensive, tattoos.
Also I work in a field where my body art has to be covered all of the time. I'm an RN, so I either wear a long sleeved shirt under my scrubs or a scrub jacket all day. It doesn't bother me because just about every hospital I've ever worked in is freezing cold, so the extra layer is comfortable. I don't have any neck or face or boob tats, but I do have a very small one on the side of my hand that I cover with Dermablend. Usually I don't bother covering it because it's so small that most people don't notice when i'm wearing gloves, but I cover it for interviews and whatnot.
The judgment that comes with being a heavily tattooed woman doesn't bother me. The notion that tattooed women are not effeminate doesn't bother me in the least bit. I've been called worse, and not because of my tattoos. People seem to believe that a woman with tattoos isn't classy...well, class is not about being beautiful or done up. Class is about being a good person and treating others in a respectful way. It’s about doing the right thing, even when the right thing is hard to do. Class is a characteristic, not a beauty statement. Has nothing to do with my physical appearance.
