I do think people should tip because it's how they make the bulk of their income, but this quote is some bullshit...and part of the reason why some folks are probably anti- tipping...so in order to "teach a lesson" you risk your already shitty low income job by giving them bad service? That's not bright at all

shit waiters and waitresses arent as productive as they were when you were growing up, they are too busy texting or carrying on about there nonexistant social life.

I stay leaving IHOP when i don't get my reciept 5 minutes after putting my napkin on the plate.

matter fact, if you don't come back and refill the drinks at least 2 times im not tipping you.

you don't even bother to check on us? no tip.

if i have to wait 10 mintues for a drink order, no tip.

it's too easy to say, "hey bonnie can you cover my table for me?"

I tip 20% usually. I worked as a waitress all through college so i can empathize. I never had a problem getting good tips when i was working cuz i did my job well. I can count on my hand the few times i got stiffed or shorted. I did find tho that most waiter/waitresses complaining about tips didn't give the best of service. Unless the service is out right horrible i'll still tip 15%. I had some of the worst service recently at Sweetwater Tavern (ever been Kimi?). I mean dude was just not on his game, he never checked on us, our food was late, he took so long gettin my husband a refill that he just went & got it himself, he refused to tip him any more than 10%. Their wings are so good tho it was almost worth it. Next time i'm just getting carryout

that's what i don't get. every server i talk to the hourly wage is different. i've heard the $2-3 thing....the newest one was some dude at applebee's tried to tell us they make like 15-30 cents for every dollar of someone's bill. i was like wtf?

not sure if i believe that, but that's what he said.
