Okay so if Paul wasn't White, again what race was he, Asian? Arabic? Or Eurasian...you can disregard the pale looking Roman painting but again, the Romans had a good idea what he looked like since he was a real person and traveled to Rome many times and even died there. Interesting how the ancient Roman paintings of Peter looks like another White guy as well and of course the Romans knew Peter pretty well, they crucified him like they did Jesus.
that painting was made about 4 hundred years after the time of paul, the romans like most cultures depict heroes OR people in popular stories in a fashion that is comfortable for them that is why white people still depict the Egyptians as being white. The people who created that painting never saw paul their grand parents never saw paul. that painting proves nothing at all.
paul was a Hebrew born of Hebrews which means he would have looked like the people in the area of Israel today minus the white jews and very fair skinned jews. HE WAS hebrew he would have looked more like French montana or dj kalid he surely was not white. The Hebrews themselves, Israel genetically speaking were made of the people in the area so that means a mix of African, arab and Levantine people Not European.
Well people in the Levant have a lot of European mixtures, look at President Assad. He looks like a White guy to me. Not all Arabs are white but many are. Many in the Levant area have mixtures with Greeks and Italians from the trade posts and etc, so it's not fair to say many of the ancient Hebrews may not have had some European features or even look European due to so much mixtures.
It's a complicated subject but Paul's area at birth was under Roman or Greek domination and in fact he spoke great Greek. He did say he was Hebrew but hey, Benjamin Netanyahu would say the same thing. In reality, you can't say for sure Paul looked or did not look European, many in the Levant are mixed with a whole lot of white, so much that some are white.
The entire region has been mixing for centuries but it's a faulty assumption to call them white/European. the native people over their are semetic they are a different people from European face structure is no way to categorizes people/race because it those features can be found in many different people ethopians are also Caucasians are you going to call them white as well??? also PAUL when he was know as SAUL was a pharisee and so were his parents the parisees were very strict on following the law. Which means he could not have been a pharrisee and be mixed with greek or roman BECAUSE THE torah prohibits race mixing with pagans especially for priests.
No one born of a forbidden union may enter the assembly of the lord. Even to the tenth generation none of his descendants may enter the assembly of the lord . ( deuteronmy 23:2)
So if he was anything else but 100% Hebrew he would have been ineligible to be a Pharisee.
As for assad he is atypical the average person from that region does not look that light . the greeks and romans are young compared to the semitic people so the Hebrew identity and race was already established before Greece rose to power.
Being 100% Hebrew may not mean much, you said yourself many Jews in the region were and are mixed like hell already and many in the Levant look European or have strong European features. The Torah prohibits many things but there's a strong history in Judaism of people mixing anyway, look at the Mizrahi Jews who are Asiatic but look white in so many ways due to their mixtures with white looking Syrians, Greeks and Italians. You do know Italians and Greeks have been around for a long time right, thousands of years like the Jews have (Jews are older but not by a whole lot)
So Paul COULD have been a white looking jew, haven't seen strong evidence he wasn't. And Assad of Syria looks White, come on man, there have been white looking Arabs and people in the Levant for ages
You know very well that assad does not look like your typical arab. stop it he is an outlier and it's dishonest to hold him up like what he looks like is common.
paul being 100% hewbrew and being a Pharisee means his family would have had to marry with other Hebrews for 10 generations. if he did not come from a family of pharisses then then what you say would have more validity, because common jews were more prone to breaking the prohibition against race mixing. but the odds of the pharisses doing this is very low. which means the odds of paul having European blood is very low the people that lived around ancient Israel and it's surrounding areas have been mixing for centuries but they were not doing so heavily with white people. That only started during later generations WHEN THE ISLAMIC empires began capturing white slaves and when they took over Persia. ALL THAT HAPPENED after paul was long long dead.
the greeks and roman/Italians are a young people in comparison to the jews, the jews trace themselves all the way back to ancient Egypt. by the time the greeks came on the scene Egypt had already fallen to outsiders ancient Babylon have already been taken over by the Persians and hundreds of years after that the greeks came to power in the middle east.
Lots of truth in this but again, people in the Levant aren't far from Europe and so they did mix with whites and other Europeans. Greeks and others were mixing with people A LOT in the Levant before Islam even existed, you heard of Alexander the Great right, he was around before Islam was even a religion. And in fact Alexander married a Persian or Arab woman and had one or two kids with her, just a small example of all the mixing people in the Levant had with outsiders.
And by the way, Cyprus, part of the Levant, is considered a EUROPEAN nation and in fact is now part of the European Union. There's a great chance Paul was a White or Asiatic white looking Jew, but not a 100% chance I'll admit
