Horrible Post. Most RB's average at least 4 yards a carry first off. If a receiver drops 10 passes in a season he has a reputation for havin bad hands...so I dunno which receivers u mean that can't catch shit. And most QB's complete at least 60% of their passes. Compare that to NBA players FG% if you wanna try that ol bullshit.

So u sayin every team has receivers with good hands and every team is running the ball down the defenses throat. Fuck outta here fam, u like the Bucs dude they just got competitive. So u sayin when fuckin Bruce Gradkowski or whatever other C-level qb they had was running the team u was still interested past week 8 or 9 when ur team is clearly out of playoff contention? As far as the ratings go, people will watch what they wanna watch. Just like I couldnt explain why Nascar is so popular, just because it popular dosent mean its good. I like NFL football, but straight up the better product is the NBA. Only thing I feel is holdin the NBA back is Stern has been in power so long, shit is gettin kinda stagnant, much like MLB where Selig has has held the job too long.

Is it going to beat the NFL no but is it better now than the last ten years yes.

I mean the ratings for last years finals were some of the highest ever and now that Bron is on the heat and the Knicks and Bulls are back I think the future is very bright. If bron and Wade can form a new dynasty the league will be just fine

emm u maybe right..but that aint saying much for reasons i arlready stated

bron's in miami and they still can't fill that arena cuz there's mad ish to do on south beach....the state of the nba although maybe better then the last ten years..but it's along way from being as stable as it once was....

the nba is not the better product..where do u get that from??...again like i stated..the NBA has to possibly take over one of it's own franchises cuz they can't find a buyer for the N.O. hornets...ppl wanna watch what they wanna but u forgetting that ratings mean everything to these privately own'd companies...if ratings aint good..there's this thing call'd a "blackout" and i'm sure d.stern doesnt want that....

ish u got a franchise now in the cavs selling some of their tix for pennies..that's not good..that's not a better affair then the nfl..and the NBA lost money last year..check the books on that homie.

the money part of the NBA is f'ing over the whole product of the league...given katz guarenteed contracts for long terms doesn't help any team get better or correct their mistakes..in the NFL...u can cut ur loses faster and rebuild quicker..which is better for viewers since we all wanna see the best on t.v.

I aint talking about all that buisness stuff, jus strictly on the court. I'd take a game 7 over most Super Bowls.

not every super bowl has been great just like not every finals have been great..i get it's ur personnal preference so u got that..overall i think the nfl is more ent. then the nba and sorry the ratings say so as well

and bball is my 1st love...but i gotta give it to the nfl..not every game is good, just like not every nba game is good, but overall to me..it's way past the nba.

The disparity between the talent level is too wide a gap. And the league has further widened the gap by instituting these rules which exclusively protect the star players.

A guy like Charles Oakley lasted in the league for as long as he did because there was a need for a goon who would do the dirty work. How often do we hear Charles Barkley calling for the little guards to be knocked on their ass for driving the lane. The league won't allow that. So now players who lack the athleticism and talent of a Lebron or Kobe are primarily buying their time until something better comes along.

You can't compare NFL attendance and NBA attendance. Madison Square Garden holds about 20,000 seats for basketball games

and according to http://espn.go.com/nba/attendance

the Knicks attendance average is 19,700. So they do sell out.. I should know I went to the Heat vs Knicks game. Panthers seats 74,000 people. Football stadiums are generally larger than basketball stadums. tickets for $8... cheapest tickets for Knicks game $60, cheapest for Nets are $45.. On a home stretch for NBA team they will play two or three times game a week. Football games are played once a week and that is a Sundayy when most people have off.

I would like to see more rivalries in the NBA. I think they should make division teams play each other 5X a year instead of 4 to make the games more important like the NFL's division games.

NBA has gotten soft compared to the 90s. Watch the Reggie Miller vs the NY Knicks 30 for 30. The league caters too much to superstar players and big market teams it seems during the playoffs. I'm tired of the same 5 teams showing up in the Finals every year. It seems fixed at times.

NFL has it's line of garbage teams too. I'm not for contracting teams, every franchise has it's up and down years NFL & NBA. I remember how horrible my Colts used to be.

Also the NFL has shiddy refs too and has gone soft. You pretty much can only hit the QB by wrapping up his waste and taking him down but don't lead with your head when u do it! Along with taking the fun out of the game (the Packers player got a f'n flag for going to his knees after scoring a touchdown in the Super Bowl).

I like the NFL a lil more than the NBA right now but theres good product out there for both leagues if u look for it and stop letting ESPN, ABC, and TNT make u think the only teams worth watching are the same 6 they feature every week! I had a blast with NFL Red Zone this season cuz I got to see up and coming teams like the Lions get better and I'm always watching my Pacers although they've been struggling the last 4 years and the middle of the week games NBA TV features. Neither league is perfect but if you're a true fan of either sport that should be enough to wanna tune in.

It's not just total attendance. I think NFL was beatin NBA as far as % of the stadium filled too. But regardless of the day of the week...gimme a NFL ticket for $20 or however cheap NBA tickets get, and I'll go to a game on a Wednesday

Bucs just got competitive? They won the Superbowl in the 02 season, and won the division twice since then. This year, and 2 years ago they were 1 game out the playoffs...so I wouldn't say they "just got competitive."

But my point is you said NFL is just RB's gettin 2-3 yard carries all game...I said most RB's average 4+ yards a carry. You said it's full of pass happy teams throwin the balls to receivers that can't catch. I'm tellin you that's wrong, and that just about every QB in the NFL has a higher completion % than just about every NBA players FG%. So NBA has a higher % of missed shots, than NFL has of incomplete passes. I'm just tellin you facts.

So DOES THE NBA SUCK?

OR

ITS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE, NOT EXCITING, BORING, ETC

It sucks. It pulls talent from all over the world, and still doesn't have enough talented players to go around.

Nba is alot worse due to the refs controlling the game. It took more skill to play in the 80s, and you couldnt be a pussy. Most of the leagues top scorers are that just because the refs get them to the line more. I think the games are fixed to be honest. Tim Dongahy couldnt possibly be the only ref in history fixing games

I said earlier I don't really watch it. If there's more talent, why isn't it a competitive league? I'm not callin you a liiar, I'm just askin. In the NFL you can pull a couple players from every team that you would want on your squad. Lions aren't a good team...I'd take Johnson and Best. Panthers were last in the league, but Williams and Stewart are both really good. 49ers suck, but Willis and Gore are good. I don't get the feel in the NBA that sorry teams have those players everyone wants in the NBA. Raptors had Bosh, Cavs had Lebron, Suns had Stoudemire, Wizards had Arenas. But in order to compete with the Magic, Celtics, and Lakers they had to all leave (and leave those other teams in shambles, and they probably won't recover for a long long time). It's damn near like baseball. If you're good, you just go to a top team (especially if Carmelo goes to the Lakers). That kills competition and makes things boring. Same teams stay on top year after year after year after year. That doesn't say widespread talent to me. But it is good to see teams like the Thunder and Bulls on the come up.

-Too many games. Imagine if the season were only 32 games long. Players would actually have to put some effort into the games and actually care about winning! It would be more competitive, players might actually attempt to play defense and hustle.

-Too many teams. Oklahoma, Charlotte, Toronto...LOL.

-Too many shitty teams, only a few good teams. Simply not enough talented basketball players to fill out that many rosters. What we're seeing now is a few dream teams like the Celtics and Heat, and then a bunch of development league level teams.

-Few good rivalries. I mean how many good rivalries have their been over the past 10 years? Only a handful.

-Players switching teams too much. Hard to stay a loyal fan of a team when your favorite players jumping sides every few years. The league should implement some sort of Franchise Tag situation. It's too devastating for a team to build around a certain player for 5+ years only to have them leave and get nothing in return. Franchise tag would put an end to LeBron-type players leaving their teams in the dust. Worst case, teams tag players and then trade them, getting something decent in return.

-Overpaid players = lazy, fake injuries, little effort, Vince Carter syndrome.

L.A still loves Basketball because of the Lakers. Boston likes it. A few other places. and the rest of the country dont give a fuck no more.

fuck you. period. end thread.

what you mean its not a competitive league? just like you said there are players you can take from bad teams in the nfl you can do the same for bad nba teams. we know the nfl is built on parity but there are other great teams like the mavs, spurs, thunder, jazz, magic, hawks and bulls

You can find decent supporters on some bad NBA teams, but not much top tier talent. Patrick Willis is a top tier LB, Calvin Johnson is a top tier WR, Deangelo Williams is a top tier RB, Larry Fitzgerald is a top tier WR...these are players on bad teams that can go to the best teams in the league and be the starter. The spurs are an example of the same team on top year after year after year. I said in an earlier post that the West has only sent 3 teams to the finals since like 1999 I think it was. Lakers, Mavs, Spurs. And the Mavs were just 1 of those years. The other 11 years were Lakers and Spurs. Since 1999 the only championship winners were the Lakers, Heat, Celtics, Spurs, and Pistons. This year 4 of those teams are probably still the favorites (not the Pistons). 12 years later and it's still the same story. That's a competitive league to you?
