And when you only have 16 games all the games seem a lot more intense. We really gonna act like when the Celtics beat the Heat to open up the season everyone wasn't like "who gives a fuck, it's 1 game outta 82."? In the NFL it'd be "Naw fuck that game, we'll see ya'll again on (insert game date) or in the playoffs. Losses aren't just shrugged off in the NFL like that.

I never said big games aren't played early in the NFL season but with only 16 games that shit ends too quickly. In the next couple of years there gonna keep increasing the number of games. In the NBA players be injured for months so if only 16 games were played a lot of players wouldn't even have a chance to recover and play again till next season which is whack.

I should really start betting becuz I can call a large percentage of the games. Every year it's like certain teams repeat the last 2mins of a game. In trying to clean up the game, Stern has taking the fun out of watching it. The refs are fuking horrible. Also there hasn't been enough physical adjustments to the game.

Personally I'm glad Lebron shitted on the Cavs. It's changed the way a lot of players and owners think.

i love the NBA but it's been steadily falling off since the 90's so i co-sign this thread.

the most prevalent problem for me is the foul calling - NBA looks soft and causes flopping just as pussified as Soccer

NBA was my preference as a kid but as an adult it's NFL > MLB > NHL > College Football > NBA > College Basketball

And i used to ref basketball games, its no walk in the park. In football you can throw a flag, talk it over and say "my bad. no foul." Basketball is instant decision. Everybody is calling for your head.

Referees do have alot of power though. And you would be amazed how many refs think the game is about them.

i've said it all along. the isolation and pick and roll were exciting. but not now. neither is a pump fake that draws the defender into the air the the player jumps into the airborn defender to get a foul call. or a player driving on a line to the basket and knocking people over and the other guys being called for the blocking foul. There are alot of aspects to the game that just aren't appealing. the overall game is stale and predictable every time up and down the court. and i like the rules that will T up a player who starts bitching. that has also made the game less watchable. watching grown men act like babies out there when things don't go there way. the average american can't relate to that. what if we were at our jobs and someone told us we were doing something wrong and we just snapped back, "what thefuck you talmbout? The chargers have won the division and have a top 5 to 10 QB and can't sell out (probably cause they are in Cali) I live in Texas and the Mavs have been better than the Cowboys for about ten years now but this is football country and so is most of the country. You don't find it ironic that LA the second biggest market has no NFL team, maybe cause they don't care about Football like that

Let's see why : Maybe cause people can't relate to Basketball as much cause it is alot harder to make it to the league, anybody can make a high school football team. Also like I said before if you don't think race plays an issue you are crazy. People like to cheer for people that they can relate to and that is a fact. When you got 90% of the people at the games being white that probably explains why they may be a little hesitate about spending money on a "tatted up thug" . The NFL gets the built in advantage of having helmets on so players don't really get put out there it's more about the team. Like I said these are all advantages that are built in. College B-Ball has a one game playoff and doesn't have alot of games and etc etc but you guys are crazy if you think Alabama or Auburn is riding with B-Ball over Football regardless of the factors you are talking about.

Also the whole ref thing in the NBA is so overblown, nobody on here will admit that the hits on QB's and pass interference aren't messing up the NFL, there is more flags out there now than ever before. The NBA is better now than at any point since Jordan left.

Bottom line you can compare Football to Basketball but you can't just say the NBA sucks cause it don't got the popularity of the NFL cause almost everything you said that's bad in the NBA is the exact opposite in College B-Ball and it makes no difference. College B-Ball is going through it's worst period ever so I would say the NBA is doing pretty good

thats a huge part of it. its not about popularity and ratings and all of that. its just that the game isn't as exciting and intruiging to most people.

What are these Marquee matchups that you speak of ?

I guess I am just a fan but I have no problem watching a clipper vs. golden state game on a tuesday night, what else is on. Maybe one difference for me is that I am a super fan of sports so games on Sunday and Monday are just not enough for me the whole year. I really don't get into Basketball hard till the NFL season is done but during the NFL season I can't watch NFL live and NFL matchup and all this. I mean the Monday morning sportscenter is the only one worth watching for NFL highlights the rest of the week is spent on talking about the upcoming sunday. I can catch NBA highlights every morning on sportscenter. The NFL puts out about four games a week three on sunday and one on monday night. The season is like half the year, sorry I like the fact that Basketball is on every night of the week. I see the flip side like if you are a casual sports fan and you just want to tune in once a week then the NFL is for you. I like to see games, I am not going to watch 20 hrs of NFL draft coverage, and mini camps etc.
