Why J Cole is hiphops last hope (Huffington Post article)

Hip-Hop's last hope?...fuck out of here. I'm a big Cole fan and I know that's bullshit.

as J Cole produced the album himself, the stale sounds of over-used producers Timberland and Swizz Beats were mercifully avoided. The music had a live, organic feel, with liberal use of piano and clever sprinklings of acoustic guitar, bass, and flute. The drums were forceful and hard-hitting, with J Cole unafraid of a heavy impact snare. If the sensitive Drake was forced to rap over the punchy 'Rise And Shine' he'd be bedridden for a week, shivering and pale-faced, with his mum bringing him hot chocolate and cheese on toast to calm his nerves.

Stale? some of Cole's beats sound stale, and he need to work on the drums more as a producer. When I think of of a "live organic feel" I think of producers/groups such as the Soulquarians, not Cole.

And Drake be on that simp shit sometimes, but he woulda ripped Rise and Shine if he wanted to. Tom Cook needs to check Drake's Comeback Season mixtape from 07. Nothing but heat from front to back.

j.cole is hip hop's last hope for what?

another nigga that can't stay on topic?

a nigga rappin about "regular guy" shit?

a nigga rappin about fuckin hoes?

there are other niggas that do what he does.....better

he won't be around for a 3rd album

nigga will be chingy status by then

Stop fooling ya'll self, Krit is nowhere near the lyricist Cole is and he damn sure has no appeal.

Joey Badass is nice, but has no appeal on the commercial level. He is one of those Royce, Joel Ortiz, etc type niggas.
