why eminem is the greatest lyricist ever

One of them for sure. Wouldn't say "the" greatest, way too much stuff goes into figuring this shit out also, ain't got the time.

I feel like Em really fell off after Eminem Show tho he had some good songs/features every now and then after that album.

But back in his prime he was one of the goats. Inspired Budden whos a great lyricist, killed on Renegades with Jay, No Love with Wayne, etc.

And those underground freestyles where the dj would say a random word n he would rap about it.

Was young then so its easy to forget but gotta give Em his respect

N lets not forget how bad he would rip rappers apart on disses

Nail in the Coffin makes my personal top 5 disses all time

Em used to be nice. I liked his flow and style on Slim Shady LP and MMPL. Those are very good albums. His content was bizarre and fucked up, which at the time was cool because he was like this white punk rock kid that could rhyme. I could get with it. It was fresh.

But well over a decade later, I just can't relate to what he's saying on his records, and he doesn't flow like he used to. All the multis and aggressive hollering is just exhausting on the listener to be honest.

Back then, he had internal rhymes and all, but he had a more digestible cadence and more relaxed, off-kilter flow. It wasn't just a big vocabulary and cramming as many multis into a bar as he could, which is funny because that's what he used to clown Canibus for doing.

"Killed on Renegades with Jay" =/= Killed Jay on Renegades

They both had hard verses

I'm been saying this on the IC for awhile now, but your comment is why people need to realize its NOT The same guy. MArshall Mathers is dead. Probably months after "when I'm gone". Notice his face/body are way different from his videos before And after. He was a talented lyricist and in his REAL catalogue we saw a man caught In an industry that basically USED him and real hip hop listeners saw the trans
