Why arent people giving the saints any chance against manning?

They got away with one like they did all year long against thr Vikes. I got a feeling the Saints are about to get humbled.

Just what in the lords name are u talking about??? They gave up 14 pts to the Cards.

Colts also gave up 400 yrds to MIA and got dominated in time of position more than 2 to 1 and managed to win. I guess Miami is the better team and would win 9 out of 10. FOH!!!!

This years bowl is going to be classic.

I was thinkin the same thing..with the saints style of play every game is exciting, new orleans been the crunkest team to watch play this year and the way manning move his offense down the field i can already see this game being a classic.

^^^ thats irrelevant to what I wrote. But, yeah of course he would likely score.

i know lol...but my point is when u playin against the Colts u still have to put the points up, and they defense is goin real unnoticed they've played pretty good this year

the Dolphins had all them yards, and were killin in the T.O.P....but still didnt put up enough points and gave Peyton the ball back with to much time remaining

I understand.

The point I was trying to make was to those who said the best team didn't win and their premise was the Vikes had the ball longer and had over 400 yards of offense. Well, I just gave an example of the same thing that happened to the Colts. These type of things happen all the time, but you never say Miami is better than Indy and that they would win 9 out of team times they've played.

The Saints can score on the Colts, quite easily to be honest.

I think it's because of the Saints play lately. They lost to the Cowboys, Bucs, beat an Arizona team that no one was too impressed by. And their game against the Vikings wasn't impressive. They didn't play good defense, despite their big plays. Their offense wasn't too good late in the game either. The colts have been putting up points on dominant defenses, and playing decent (not great) defense. I'm not saying the Saints can't win. But I think that's why people are calling for a Colts victory.

Some of ya'll really have some selective memories. The Saints held the Cardinals to 14. The same Cardinals team that threw up 50 in the previous game. And since when was causing turnovers not a good defensive showing? It's not like AP spiked the ball on the field and walked off. He got wrapped up and the ball got punched out of his hands. That's a good defensive play. Yeah they gave up a lot of yards, but like you said, the turnovers are what won the game for the Saints and most of them were forced errors.

Brett Favre and Minnesota shitted all over that Saints Defense. The Cardinals were playing without Boldin too. All the Saints had to do was shut down Fitzgerald. It wont be the same when Manning has 4 receivers to go to. All Im saying is their D was looking real suspect in those games.

Miami got all those yards and got 14 points right. The Colts play a predominately zone coverage defense. That means they will sacrifice rushing yards for field position. The only thing that was fucking the Colts up in that game was the wildcat offense. Not an excuse but the Colts had 4 of their Defensive starters out of that game.

Funny how U got all these 'experts' in here... "oh the Defense sucks"..whatev...We played half the season with half our defensive line, linebackers, and 3/4 of our DBs hurt...no excuses, since we still went 13-3. U can have every yard up to the red zone...we're #2 in red zone defense...We played back 2 back 1st ballot HOF'ers and will play another in 10 days...Like I've said in other threads, keep doubting us,we thrive on it...keep thinking this is the Georgia/Hawaii Sugar Bowl or some shit...just be here when the Saints take it all and accept it like a man...or woman... Saints 35,Colts 30...lets ask the Pats...

you're right...people fell to realize that most of the season that saints defense was banged up and they still went 13-0 and what they did to the patriots was amazing comparing how if not for the infamous 4&2 play from belichick the pats wouldve beat the colts in there place but as you were saying the saints defense has faced eli, matt ryan(twice) ,brady, warner, farve, and the saints came out on top in all those games the question for me is not can the saints defense stop peyton its can the saints run the football and sustain drives and keep manning off the field

people also fail 2 realize that our rush offense was #6 in the league... Of course they're gonna say "well, the Jets were #1"..yeah,and where were they ranked passing??? Thought so... Drew Brees finished #1 in completion pct. and the passing offense was #1,overall offense was #1...Indy has played no offense like ours this season with the exception of N.E. and as U said,Bellichick cost the Pats that game in Indy...I can't wait...

Colts have no D at all, I never understood how this team had a "good" defense....all they have is freeney eevrbody else is expendable.....colts have the most overachieving D I ever seen.

colts were 18th in total defense this year... they gave up 3 to the ravens and 17 to the jets in the playoffs whcih is pretty good BUT! everybody know that those 2 teams offensively arent on the same level with the saints leading me to believe that you cant just beat the colts with a good defense you have to have a strong offense as well because if you stop peyton manning then what??? you have no offense so you end up giving him the ball back..time of possession, ball control and a great offense is what you need to beat the colts

Colts have played Brady, Schaub twice, and...exactly...They haven't faced a team like the Saints..and just like we had Bellicheat scratching his head that MNF game, we will have Caldwell speed-dialing Dungy 4 adjustment schemes... We've played as many quality QBs in the last 2 weeks as the Dolts have played all year... Saints 35-30

Check the opponents records for both teams. The Colts had a harder schedule, and still came out with the best record in the league.

AFC >>>> NFC

Colts 35 - 10 Saints

I dont hate the Saints and I'm happy for the city of New Orleans, but now its on. haha

Good Luck to the Saints, they're going to need it.

All these so called stats on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball actually favor the Saints, not to mention the stylistic match-up. The Colts runnig offense was last in the league. The colts don't run the ball at all which means the Saints D will be able to rush the QB willingly with no consequences. We've seen what happens when one dimensional offenses play the Saints, they get manhandled.

Opp QB rating (most important Defensive stat in football: Saints 58.8 Colts 80.6

Turnover ratio: Saints +11 Colts +2

Time of poss: 31:39 Colts 27:19

Saints also rank amongst the best in the league in Red Zone defense and efficiency on offense. In between the 20's I expect Manning to fair well at times, but when he gets toward the endzone and the throwing lanes start to close expect some turnovers or the Colts to settle for 3.

LMAO are you serious with that QB rating shit??? The QB rating is the most overrated and useless stat in football.
