Why arent people giving the saints any chance against manning?

I'm not trying to rain on the Saint parade but the Saints play the same type of blitzing defense like the Jets and the Jets have better personnel on def. than the Saints and the Colts scored an easy 30 points on us, and it could've been worse. IMO when your defense is judged by takeaways that doesn't make you a good def. The Saints will only win this game in a shootout. They might stop Manning a couple of times in the 1st quarter but if the Saints can't get pressure on Manning without bringing the house they will not stop him. He will get rid of the ball before the rush gets there. Also the Saints don't have a great corner to take away Wayne like Revis did Sunday so expect him to have his biggest game of the playoffs. But what I'm hearing is that they are not going to change the field after the ProBowl so the field might be chewed up for the big game so that might slow down the Colts but that will slow down the Saints who don't have a dominant run game either.

Because people are caught up in the moment because of what Peyton did to the ravens and jets defense. Rightfully so, but the ravens and jets lost because they couldn't score enough points. It's a offensive league and you need a offense that can put points up on the board when your D isn't dominating the entire game.

The saints have a chance because they have the best offense in the league. It's really going to come down who has the ball last and/or who commits more turnovers.

Manning is going up against the 26th ranked passing D after beating two of the top 5 in TOTAL defense the past 2 weeks....you do the math...i aint sayin the Saints are gonna lay down...offensively they can match the Colts score for score like they did the Viks....but....if the Colts dont give up the ball....Saints have no chance

because manning ain't going to do no dumb shit like brett did

Pretty much. NO needed 5 fumbles, 2 picks and overtime to get past the Vikings at home

Now on a neutral field, they face a team that has been there before, just put 30 points on the #1 defense in the league and has Peyton Manning playing some of the best playoff ball of his life.

This is a fair point, but I think you're leaving a few things out. Yeah, the Colts beat the Ravens, but it's not like Manning crushed their D. Other than the second quarter, the Indy offense didn't do anything special at all. The Colts beat the Ravens because the Ravens offense sucked. A similar argument can be made for the Jets game. The MIN defense is no slouch and the Saints put up 31 in a game where they weren't even clicking on all cylinders offensively.

People are underestimating the Saints. Min has a great offensive line, and the Saints D managed to beat Favre up all game. That same thing could happen to Peyton, and as good as Peyton is, he's shown time and time again that if the D gets to him, he has a hard time responding. Not to mention that people aren't really giving the Saints D the credit they deserve for forcing those turnovers. It's not like the Vikings players were tripping over their own feet and letting the ground knock the ball away. The Saints were stripping them and punching the ball away. Those same things can happen to the Colts. Also, the Indy D has not face an offense as high powered as that of the Saints. Maybe Peyton can light the Saints D up, but there is also a good chance that Brees can light up that Colt defense. Just because the Colts can hold the Ravens or the Jets offense in check doesn't mean they can do anything against the Saints. I'd go as far as to say that the Cowboys have a much better offense than the Ravens. The Vikings D was able to shut the cowboys offense down just as well as the colts were able to shut down the Ravens. That same Vikings D got 28 put up on them in regulation by the Saints. I'm not saying that the Saints will definitely win, but this isn't a gimme game for the Colts.

yeah..i think the saints will shock some people i know if they can score 30 on the vikings defense they can easily put 30 on the colts d... this might be a 38-34 type game

I definitely agree with you here. Excellent points. Not sure who wins, but I would not be shocked at the Saints upset.

The saints have a chance I don't think anyone thinks they don't but the Colts are favored because of Manning. But I think the game is 50/50. The saints have the offense to score points on the Colts the question is going to be how will their defense hold up. If its a shoot out I'm gonna take the Colts because of Manning. But if they can frustrate Manning and force some turn overs they will have a chance. As good as their offense is I don't think the Saints should try to get into a track meet with the Colts.

Also the Colts have not lost yet this year in any game that they tried to win. Mean while the Saints were trying to win up until the last game because they were still trying to secure home field advantage and they lost 3 straight.

They have a great chance...The Colts have not played a team with any sort of offense in weeks. If the Saints can hit Manning, not necessarily sack, like they did against Favre and Warner then they will win this game. The Saints are capable of scoring and keeping up with the Colts.

Just what in the lords name are u talking about??? They gave up 14 pts to the Cards.

Colts also gave up 400 yrds to MIA and got dominated in time of position more than 2 to 1 and managed to win. I guess Miami is the better team and would win 9 out of 10. FOH!!!!

This years bowl is going to be classic.
