USMARINE got to stop the bashing for Kendrick. Jay-Z loves Kendrick and wanted to sign him to Roc Nation. You can't trash someone who Jay-Z likes bro.

False, Kendrick got a try out for Def Jam when Jay-z was president but Kendrick wasn't ready as a artist yet and he was turned down. Jay never tried to sign him to Roc Nation, stop the nonsense.

Your people know people at Roc Nation? I'll wait.

Correct me if i'm wrong, J Cole sold 218k in his first week without Jay-z on any of his singles or propping him up like Dr. Dre did Kendrick. So who really lost, talk to me when Kendrick outsells J Cole or produce more successful singles.

You are pathetic at this point. It is sad that you want a rapper you claim you like to flop. You sound like an excessive ex-girlfriend.

or i'm just trolling ya'll like how i troll the emotional Nausea-r stans

You've been doing it for years, don't play the "I was trolling" card after you look foolish.

i was one of the first person to talk about Wale, J Cole, Kendrick on here.

Why can't people just be fans of whoever they like w/o tryin to downplay another rapper's skill? In real life, people I know that like Kendrick, also like Cole too. In fact, they are always mentioned together whenever somebody mentions one of them. Only on the internet, you'll see people trynna shit on one rapper to make their favorite rapper look better.

People didn't know Kendrick existed till he signed with Dre 5 months ago even though he was featured on the multi platinum Drake album in 2011 and Game's single???

Stop talking about shit you don't know about doggy.

who in the fuck listens to game in 2012??? And being featured doesn't mean shit...fuck gudda gudda, jae millz and lil twist have features and look @ the wonders it's doing for their careers

How do you explain Kendrick having one of the top selling independent albums of 2011 then if no one knew he existed until he signed with Dre?

http://m.billboard.com/v/ChartSingles/TopIndependentAlbums245/?p=0&KSID=87a4153d8bebab6b3d142

Guess What?..I don't know anybody who knows anybody on that list..and number 2 is a hiphop group or so I've been told cuz I've never heard of em and I'm sure noone else has either

How many people do you know that knew who Cole was before he was on Roc Nation? Because I'm 100% positive neither you, me or anyone else on the IC did. I don't know where the fuck you're from but Section 80 got a good amount of play in my area last year. Maybe you need to go out and meet more people.

People are re-imagining history saying people didn't check for Cole because of Jay... nobody even knew who the fuck J. Cole was or that he made music before that "J. Cole (Jay-Z's first artist on Roc Nation) In The Studio Fooling Around With Auto-Tune" video on WorldStar. That was right before The Warm Up dropped.

And only reason people even gave him a check was b/c of the "first Roc Nation signee" tag. I'm sure we're all glad that we did check... but let's not front on why he even checked.

Here's that video btw...

This is the very first time the world was introduced to Cole.

i found out about Cole because i was looking for BP3 leaks and stumbled upon his Dead President(the Come Up) freestyle and A Star is Born. Then around the same time i heard he was the first artist signed to Roc Nation. then i downloaded The Warm Up after seeing good reviews. The Warm Up is classic to me. After that i started looking out for blog rappers, before i didn't really check blogs at all

I first checked for Cole becuz I saw him in the show and prove section of the july 2009 issue of xxl (still have the issue). The only reason I checked for him was becuz it said that he was a cross between Lupe and Ali vegas, and me bein a huge Lupe stan around that time, I decided to check his music out cuz TWU was buzzin on the net around that time. I've been a fan since.

Thank you (Ob)scene for breaking down what I was saying. Cole didn't get signed off buzz, his buzz came after he was signed. Meanwhile, yes, Kendrick is more popular now than he was before but he was pretty well known by rap fans on the internet and west coast way before he was signed to a major.

I actually found about Cole on youtube comments... shrugs. I heard Show Me Something and I was fan ever since. It wasn't til after that I found out he was on Roc Nation. That Jay cosign did help Cole out dramatically. From what I saw In The Morning really got Cole buzzing as far as mainstream. It wasn't a big hit on the radio or nothing but thats when I noticed females was checking for him.

i had heard cole kill a couple verse but wasnt checking for him til my man put us on him

think it was the Premeditated murder that drew me in

thats why it kill me when niggas sleep on him cause i did it

I see some of y'all not getting the point. Cole's buzz wasn't generated off of his music. It wasn't generated off of him being blogs b/c the blogs didn't even know who he was until after Jay had signed him. The blogs didn't even know Cole until Roc Nation pushed that very video I posted virally--thus allowing everyone else to find him whichever way they did. And don't front like no matter where you found him you didn't first know and see that he was a Roc Nation signee which helped peak your interest. No matter how you slice it he was catapulted up alongside the other freshman of the time b/c of his Jay/Roc Nation affiliation.

Why is Cole always gettin pit against somebody?...Y'all did it wit Drake, Wale, Krit, and now Kendrick...And he rock wit all them niggas and knows very well there's certain things they can do that he can't...And vice versa, I guess...Hell, it was een Nicki Minaj vs. J. Cole at one point, let that mixed nigga cook...Kendrick just dropped a album that shitted on his last one, but now it's his turn...Let's see what he do....

Poetic Justice > nobodys perfect> cant get enough and work out

Doesn't matter what you think, just know that Work out went platinum, Can't get enough went gold, and Nobody is perfect went platinum.

Ya'll going to be in for a reality check when Kendricks album sales comes in.
http://www.complex.com/music/2012/1...for-kendrick-lamars-good-kid-maad-city-are-in

"The world has been eagerly awaiting Kendrick Lamar’s debut full-length for some time now, and it looks like fans are coming out in droves to pick up a copy. The sales projections are just coming in and good kid, m.A.A.d city is looking to break 200,000 sales in its first week. Not bad at all."

lol.

dude, all u gotta do is look @ the posters involved.. ull see a pattern with them.. it's the Jay z connection bruh

J.Cole is from Fayetteville NC aka military base aka parents have access to good jobs etc. regardless of his alleged crackhead mama cliche story and he's mixed half white half black which equals lightskinned bitchassness. these are important qualities cuz his music speaks for Blake Griffin, Jermaine hasn't been thru shit like he claimed, he still was fortunate to go to St.Johns. His content is about his college experience and rapping bout stereotype, deadbeatdad girlfriend etc...

Just as many, if not more people checked for Cole because of Jay as checked for Kendrick because of Dre.

Stop it slime. Don't make excuses now. You said Cole is a better artist because he appeals to more people but they have almost the exact same sales. So what advantage does Cole have over Kendrick now?

i dont know anybody who checked for cole cause of jay

and lol at they have almost the same sales.....no they dont

Projections aint facts

noone checked for Cole becuz Jay..most people I know don't even know this nigga signed to roc nation.. most of them don't even know whatthefuck is roc nation

A lot of people checked for Cole because of Jay, don't even see how that's arguable.

how you going tell people what peaked their interest

I haven't listened to one Rita Ora or J Elec song and they both Roc Nation

s/n: aint one pic floating online of cole and jay side by side but that relation is what made them check for cole.....lol ok
