LOL at MMLP and especially that pop bullshit Recovery being classic.

I'm a lyrics dude. That's what i look for in a rapper. As well as wordplay. The MMLP is out of this world lyrically. No rapper is touching it. Im being un biased it perfectly crafted.

Recovery was a little more pop but he has the change with the game. He took metaphores and similis rappers use today but twisted it and made it hot in a way you could never think of.

He talked about some real shit on Recovery. The deilvery and emotion on that album was 10/10

Jay-Z has better highlights in his discography and is a better rapper but Kanye is a more complete package and is more consistent with his albums. I guess that makes him the better artist.

In terms of Content, Song Writting, Album Making, diversity in Topics and Emotion Kanye West is much superior to Jay Z

Not to mention Kanye having Substance

Jay-z has substance. Maybe not of late. But most of his career he's had it.

The student went on to make much better Music/Album's and become a far better Artist in this case

So cause a nigga dont produce he cant be a better rapper? So Big didn't produce he wasnt one of the GOATS?

no big really wasnt one of the goats i firmly believe he would have fell off a LONG time ago if he didnt die in his prime and the new generation wouldnt even acknowledge his classics similar to how they have with busta rhymes and master p who used to sell just as much as big

I enjoy Kanyes Album's and Lyrical content more than Jay Z's Album's and Lyrical content

I can't say Jay Z's Lyrics mean anything to me or amaze me but i Kanyes Lyrics are relatable and much deeper than Jay Z's

Not really a fan of either but have given an unbiased listen to both catalogs. Both artist have great tracks and weak tracks. Kanye is a good, not great, but good producer. Jay-z ego is too big for him to have to start an aspect of rap from scratch, so he'll never produce. Jay-z is a much better rapper with a much better catalog. Kanye has no album as great as RD, BP or BA. However, Kanye doesn't have an album as wack as KC or BP2. As long as neither rapper hits eminem, my music is completely terrible these days, status they should be good to go.

Artistry would include lyrics, emotion, production, presentation, and performance.

I put Kanye ahead in the category of ARTIST.

College Dropout = Classic
Late Registration = Classic
Graduation = Cool album
808's & Heartbreak = Creative, out-the-box album that turned out good and worked.
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy = Near classic

My Top 5 Artists (any genre):

Kanye
R. Kelly
Kirk Franklin
Nas
Jay-Z

Jay is the far better rapper..............

But Jay Z lacks so much in the Content department and performing Hook's department

Jay Z's only debatable classic Album is Reasonable Doubt
