First off Tity Boi (hes a decent rapper not in the elite doe) is DEFINITELY older than 25 LMAO, dat nigga at LEAST 30.

But out of the list posted, i gotta go with Drake. I must admit Im not an avid Drake fan or supporter, however this guy make good music (great flow, good content, great ear when it comes to production, and most important he has LYRICS).

Most if not all people will disagree with my claims simply because Drake doesnt personify the cliche trap rapper or gangster rapper, leading to the argument that he isnt real hip hop and that he is pop and blah blah blah. But Drake future looks bright and he will remain one the staples in hip hop.

thats not why i would disagree, i just think drake a cornball, like he a gump in my book.....hes talented yes, but a rapper has to have more than talent to be put in my top anything....on top of that, drake sings entirely too much for me to even consider him to be a rapper....

big sean. ffoe

When we get to 50+ votes Im gonna do a part two and add the Top 5 from this poll and add Big Sean, Vado, Big K.R.I.T, and some of the other names that get alot of mentions....If G.R.I.P had a deal I'd add him to the list.

Nobody on this list personifies trap/gangsta rap though. Drake is just corny and his music is soft as hell

what dat gotta do with the MUSIC... i can care less if he a lame, gump, pussy, or whatever. the guy makes solid records. i guess people are so entrenched in negative black stereotypes, when a black person promotes and encourages positivity hes labeled as a lame or gump LBVS, its time for a change bro.

TRUE but most if not all of the new rappers are usually not considered to be real hiphop because their music is less aggressive and tends to promote positivity instead or negativity.

and real niggas move in silence, Drake may be a stone killa for all i kno (i highly doubt it) but i dont kno and dont care about dat. All im concerned wit is the music and he makes good music. Point blank PIDD.

bruh u must made the inference that i was saying dat Drake was going to change the world with his music... dats not what i was implying... im saying its time to change the energy of these records. Black people are the only race of people who PROUDLY promote and encourage ignorance and negativity. So when we see someone doing something positive we label them as soft and lame. LBVS dat shit gotta stop.

nah... and i already kno what u gon say. im pretty wise. but im talking bout we wear dat shit like a badge of honor doe... of course white people glorify villians and gangsters as well but they dont let that shit define them as a race. WE black people we let that shit define who we are, like we dont have elements to our culture.

1. I know of a ton of Trailer Park living Meth Lab creating ignorant ass white people to sign off on that!!

2. Jill Scotts album debut at #1 two weeks ago. 135,000 untis sold in its first week. so not everything is negative thats being offered in black media!

3. We got choices i can choose to hear Officer Ricky in his exxegerated claims of being a drug kingpin or i can buy the uplifting and highly skilled verbal gymnastics of TALIB KEWLI. I bought the Kewli joints

1. is ABSOLUTELY true, i never said any other race didnt have its share of negativity/ignorance, however WE (black people and not ALL but most or at least the people who represent us in the media) PROUDLY promote and celebrate ignorance (if u think im lying jus turn on tv or radio or better yet surf the internet see the ratio of positive to negative things involving blacks ).

2. Jill Scott is a great music artist and im proud to see her putting out quality music and doing good numbers, however one artist making positive music doesnt negate the fact dat OUR culture PROUDLY promotes, encourages, and celebrates ignorance. and i NEVER said everything in black media was negativity but i would say dats what receives the most press doe.

3. i could not agree more, we definitely have choices in what we choose to listen to.
