I just got into a debate about Wiz Khalifa...

Who do you think is the best rapper under 25 and why??

LiL B

Tyga

Drake

Meek Mill

Bow Wow

Soulja Boy

Cory Gunz

Wiz Khalifah

Kendrick Lamar

...to name a few or you can add others like Diggy Simmons, K.R.I.T Mac Miller, Fred da Godson, Vado or whomever.,

If these ae the only choices then mainstream Hip Hop is in some serious trouble. Now that I think about it, fuck yo wack ass list, nugga.

ALot of young emcees haven't mastered the "Less is more" technique..Thats what made Pac great..He spoke his message straight to the heart..No bullshyt metaphors, riddles etc..

I can play a pac record today and it speaks to me...Krit and Lamar have come the closest to that, but they still need to master other areas..

I agree with the bolded.....of course they need to master other areas but i think the can....them dudes are still relatively young.....and in my opinion i havent seen anyone make as big of a jump in progress like Krit has...i went back and listend to all his shit he put out before "Krit wuz here".....he had gems but i probably wouldnt have been a fan of him starting out....

J Cole-Solid Flow(Switches it often throughout songs),Masculine Voice,nice wordplay,can get monotone at times,beat selection sometimes wack

Freddie Gibbs-Insane nimble flow(His strongpoint),Commanding Voice,So So Content(Too into the stale gangsta ish),Sounds like he lives it,Good ear for beats

Big Krit-Very Strong delivery,Insane beats,Nice flow(Could be better),Talks about real issues,..Voice and style sounds too similar to Pimp C and T.I,(May hurt his legacy)

Cyhi-Nice Flow,Commanding Raspy Voice,Very Slick wordplay,So So songwriting skills,His music has no overall replayability factor,Sometimes content can be stale..A vain rapper

Under 30 most people would say Wayne, Lupe, Drake or J.Cole.

My heart says Nicki Minaj.

i like j.cole and nicki and wayne doing what they do, but....

lupe is the more lyrical rapper out the 30 regime, but that last album he just came out with pissed me off to the point he has to drop a classic next album for me to put him where i had him on my list before that album, and that was #1 under 30.....

I hate to be a naysayer but I see hiphop as we know it fading away. There is no (imo) a solid cat in the game that can hold the attention of fans for no more than a year at best. Then with record sales falling on top of that I see hip-hop becoming the next blues music ( around but not relevant).

Hip Hop is ancient...There will always be poets and griots...The tones may be different..but the essence of hip hop itself won't die...Rapping is a nubian trait...Rapping is a way of life

I like K.R.I.T but his style has been done already...Krit will be around because he actually speaks about something in his music

I'm not disrespecting Currency,he's a relatively underground rapper..It is what it is...His music is good but he's not top 10 material and prolly will never be because he doesn't leave his comfort zone lyrically

Pilot Talk stays on repeat on the Ipod btw

lol yea he sounds like Pimp on certain songs but i dont think it's deliberate....he's a better rapper than Pimp so that will help him in the long run.....we'll see if he can be a better producer....Pimp didn't get enough credit while he was a live for what he did behind the boards.....he produced all of those UGK albums

Yeah Pimp was a monster on the boards..Ridin dirty sonically was a masterpiece..He blends blues, funk,r&b perfectly into a rap song..His hooks are good too...I agree Krit is a better upgraded Pimp C..T.i. got a stronger flow than him tho

Few Southern rappers can match T.i's flow..T.i. rips a beat in pieces
