I worded it carfully because if we were comparing just as MC's Biggie Has Eazy beat but the Impact they each had on HIphop as a whole was more imp1ortant in this case. NWA changed the way and topic of Hiphop, it introduced a type hardcore that till that point did not get real light and for all of Biggies impacts he did not change the game like that he just helped it become accepted as part of the Pop genre as is evidence today...

From an executive and business standpoint. Eazy E for sure. He brought us 2 of the greatest groups in Hip Hop History. "N.W.A" and "Bone Thugs N Harmony". N.W.A. shaped Gangster Rap for the mainstream and that did open the doors for Biggie in the future. "Bone Thugs" became one of the most popular and successful rap groups ever. With that said From a Rapper and Emcee standpoint, Biggie all day. More rappers have been influenced by Biggie than Eazy E.

Eazy-E. There may not have even been a Notorious BIG if it wasn't for Eazy. Eazy helped popularize gangsta rap. We wouldn't have rappers talking about selling dope, toting guns and having extracurricular sex if it wasn't for Eazy's contributions, and we might not even have profanity on records either.

Eazy-E did not write his own rhymes. However, he made up for that by bringing the real life gangsta experiences to NWA. Eazy was actually a former drug dealer and was in the street. It's just that Eazy hooked up with some dudes that could help him convert his experiences into a written rap song, make some beats to go with those concepts and rhyme with him. Really, everybody in NWA needed each other because each brought different skill sets and without each other gangsta rap wouldn't have taken off.

stupid question the answer is eazy. eazy had his own record label, he was one of the first hip hop artist to do so. he was already a legend before he died. without eazy there wouldn't be so many artist its not even funny. eazy built a empire that contibues to live on. biggie died with one album under his belt with a few hits on it. if it wasnt for the east vs west ish and him dying no one would care about biggie like that. trying to compare him to eazy is just wrong.

well.. to start, one only needs to look around at the mcs of today.. who do they most emulate as far as styles of dress & lyrical delivery..

then one can look a bit further at the fans their selves.. who do they still talk about constantly? who out of these two do you hear bein' banged the most when random cars pass by you? better yet, who out of these two still have people willin' to push their own grandmothers in front of a speeding city bus to be on a track with em'?

damn good question.... its very hard to judge it tho.... I loooove biggie but dayum i have to give eazy his props were due. to be fair Eazy-E wins from a cultural perspective as he put an entire coast on & even brought social awareness to the west coast communities and opened the doors for others, he showed a side of hiphop that mainstream wanted to censor.... buuuut i cant deny biggie he literally crafted a lyrical blueprint and revolutionized a craft one that many rappers are still tryna hone (eminem, jay-z, lil wayne, drake, j.cole, etc.) so its incredibly difficult to say who. & co-sign backinwhite's post thinking about it like that ya we wouldnt have a lot of great artists today w/o eazy.

I believe Eazy E had a greater impact due to him and NWA laying out a new genre (gangsta rap), plus truly puttin the West Coast "on".

He put together a solid team of lyricists and producers around him and increased his cashflow.
Biggie sold alot of records from a gangsta image.
Eazy was the first one to prove you could get bank doing it, and make international hits from it.

I had to vote Eazy E.

But I wonder why all the Biggie voters said nothing as to why they think he had a bigger impact?

Definitely Eazy E! Fa sho. Eazy help push artists that are still going to this day. Someone posted about would there be an Ice Cube if there where no Eazy. Well I can say NWA definitely helped Ice Cube's career no doubt but he was in a group called C.I.A. before he was in NWA. Dr. Dre was already put on as well. Eazy and Ruthless Records just amped their careers up.
