Its a contest of who made more classic songs and was a more well rounded emcee.
The ONLY area where there is universal agreement on Pun being better than BIG is as a lyricist.
Lyrics is only one part of being dope. There's a reason why Immortal Technique, Chino XL, and Canibus aren't in very many top 5 lists.

We might as well say too short better than big pun too then. I respect storytelling but it definately ain't the end and be all of who's a better lyricist.

Neither is spittin multis with the same flow for one entire album. You mention those other MCs but forget to mention that Big did have slick ass phors, tight bars, and switched up his flow a lot for with ease. Again, you mention how 2Pac/Big stans are the worse, but you're coming across just as bad as they are by ignoring different aspects for why most here (and outside of the Internet) don't agree with you that Pun was overall better than Big.
Storytelling = BIG
Flows (variations) = BIG
Lyrics = Pun (because you're so bent out of shape about this one I'll give you that. It's at least debatable)
I left out things like impact, opinions of other respected Hip-Hop artists, hit making, etc since you're getting butt hurt about it. But there you have it, looking at just aspects of what makes an MC Biggie has this if you take things objectively. This isn't a Stan refusing to see both sides of the coin, this in an actual breakdown of 2 amazing artists who had short careers.

I never said anything in this whole thread about 2 Pac / big stans or whatever you talkin about up there. Biggie did have phors but not as slick and crisp as the ones Pun spat most of the times. I dont know where People are gettin Big wining the Various Flow catagory....only time he's ever changed his delivery was for that Nortorious Thugs joint. You get to switch your flow up ONE TIME and beat a guy who use to switch flows with regularity? what are you people smokin on? my God! LOL. I'll give you the storytelling,... I dont think there's any questions Big win's that, but name one time somebody won a rap battle with a Story. go head, well wait.
NothingButTheTruth;4479481 said:Biggie was WAY better. Biggie created his own lane and styled on dudes with it. Pun is/was garbage. One phrase to describe Pun is "a watered-down G-Rap."
People need to stop trying to rewrite history and understand that Pun is in the same lane as Big L. Before they died nobody gave a fuck about them. They were underground and not relevant back when relevancy was more based on talent, then not.

For starters, I'm seeing now I mixed you up with another poster. I'll add just one more reply to you. Have you ever seen Pun battle? I'm sure he wouldn't sound like he did on Dream Shatterer. If you think otherwise, feel free to post the video. We have at least one battle of Biggie on tape/video to show that Biggie could get it done on a battle tip. You can imagine Pun would sound like Dream Shatterer in a battle all you want, but the reality is he wouldn't. I'm starting to think you're deaf if you think Biggie's only switched his flow once. If you're so certain about that, then no amount of objective reasoning will ever get to you in this argument. Pun had one flow, the Kool G Rap multi syllable flow (unless youre counting the way he rapped for a good portion of Yeah Baby when he had breathing problems) Just say you like Pun more and he dropped one classic, and leave it at that. No one will argue against you on that. In the end, most here and in real life recognize that Biggie was an overall better MC.

Nawl man. Im jus thinking alot of you guys have a different definition of what "Flow" is. Busta Rhymes got flow in a since of he often changes his delivery according to the type of track it is. To be honest with you I didn't see Big do that that much. Flow aint necessarilly Multi's, that's it's own Catagory. Bigg had less clarity in the way he said his words and actually sounded like he had flem in the throat alotta times so if you gonna nitpick about breathin problems then dont just gloss over that. I get it tho. You think Big can battle based of that Notorious documentary where they showed him battling some nobody on the streets? that's not Pun he was spittin against. What Happen when Pac called him out? the Nigga keep his mouth shut till after Pac died, that's what happen. Took the nigga 11 mouths after death to come back wit look kiss good knight. You know why Nobody dissed Pun on wax? (i mean he had problems with the Rocafella Cats) It's because people didn't want it with Pun my nigga! Even Wu Tang would spit Bars dissin Bi. He wasn't as ruthless with Vocabulary as Pun. Look I'll acknolege Big had the better overall hits and stuff like that and had more of a machine behind his music(that shit helps) but Shattered Dreams was a joint only a few guys could possibly do to that degree and Big wasn't one of those type of guys. like I said, this thread is basically LL COol J vs Canibus type of deal
