I see what you sayin - as far as the domestic charge, but the resisting charge was bullshit from the jump.

That's their go-to trump up charges - resisting, disorderly conduct, assaulting an officer, they love adding those shits when they only have a single charge to go on.

But just the fuckin' nerve to say that "we'll drop the resisting charge if....". Bruh, at that point, just off principal, I would've put on-record that "I plead no-contest to the domestic, and nothing else, but your resisting charge is bullshit and I will be suing you for assault." In other words, you better drop that shit regardless.

Some lawyers probably would've even managed to get that domestic charge dropped, unless the victim pushed, once the state know's what's coming. Peep all the cases that got dropped based on cops, forensic investigators who got fired before the case came up.
